[Axel POV]
"Observing as all the doors close, I don't panic. I know this lockdown can be easily resolved, but Regina and Gail don't know that, so it's understandable that they're worried.
"What's happening?" Regina exclaims as she approaches Gail.
"Ah... Kirk must have activated the security system! That crazy bastard!" While they talk to Rick through their communicator, giving him information about the situation, I approach the terminal in the corner.
With the screwdriver I found in the emergency toolbox in the room, I unscrew a plate, gaining access to the circuits.
Hearing the noise I'm making while opening the plate, Regina turns and sees me configuring the circuits. She approaches me and asks, "Do you need help?" With a simple nod, I indicate that I don't. I quickly resolve the circuits, and after completing them, an announcement is heard.
"<Alert: Emergency lockdown has been canceled. Ten minutes remaining to isolate this section>."
"Not bad, Axel." I just give her a self-satisfied smile. At that moment, Gail approaches us, speaking more calmly, "It's better for us to move from here." With that comment, Gail contacts Rick through his communicator.
"The lockdown issue has been resolved; we're on our way."
With a worried voice, Rick responds, "Great. But the entire B1 area is infested with dinosaurs. You'll never make it out of there!"
"No problem... I'll eliminate them one by one if necessary."
"A brilliant plan, fearless leader. But I have a better one; there's an emergency hatch in the experimental lab. You can escape through there." As soon as Rick makes that comment, Regina asks, "Are you sure?"
"Yes, but there's a problem; it requires unlocking with a high-level ID card or by entering a password through the main system."
"Forget it. If you can't give us the password right now, it's better for us to get out of here before the dinosaurs surround us." Gail responds to Rick with a serious attitude.
The moment Regina hears that it can be unlocked with an ID card, she looks at me with hope in her eyes. With a smile, I show her my ID card, and she proceeds to answer Rick, "The problem is solved, Gail; we have the card."
Looking at me suspiciously, Gail curtly replies to Rick, "We have the card, and we're on our way." I need to be cautious around this guy; his years of experience help him detect that something isn't right.
"Very well, we need to hurry," I exclaim nonchalantly, entering the laboratory. I quickly move to the emergency exit, being followed by Gail and Regina. I swipe my ID card, and the emergency exit opens.
With a playful arm movement, I say, "Ladies first." Regina enters the passage with a laugh. I follow, and Gail brings up the rear. However, he's watching me closely.
"Yes, I definitely need to be careful with this guy," I mutter to myself.
Entering the emergency exit, we find a corridor that will lead us to the hangar in the B1 testing area, and with my memories from my previous life, I know that exiting will found Kirk.
Advancing, we reach a set of stairs, with Regina being the first to climb. Subtly, I admire her rear end. I don´t usually look at the butt of every woman i see, but the suit she's wearing accentuates her figure, and I couldn't help but take a quick peek.
...........
Just as Regina exits, she exclaims in surprise, "Dr. Kirk." Hearing Kirk's name, Gail pushes me and rushes up the stairs. Shaking my head at his reaction, I quicken my pace, arriving behind Gail.
As we both emerge, we hear Regina's conversation with Kirk, "Dr. Kirk, we've come to help. We represent the government of your country."
Looking at the tall man with a slightly mad-looking face and familiar blond hair, yes, that's Kirk. A madman who will do anything to make his experiments work, like in the accident three years ago when he experimented despite the risks in a city, killing more than 150 people.
Watching his face tense, he responds mockingly to Regina, "My... country? Ha! I'm very excited! What do you want from me, government lackeys?"
At that moment, Gail interrupts and approaches Kirk in an intimidating voice, "Shut up. You'll come with us, even if I have to knock you out and drag you."
Unfazed by his words, Kirk continues talking mockingly, "According to the government, I'm officially dead, correct?" giving Gail an arrogant look.
It seems this made Gail a little angry, as she immediately pointed the gun at him and in an emotionless voice replied, "If that's what you want...I'll be happy to oblige, so what's your choice, genius?"
"Relax agent it's not polite to point a gun at people, besides My study is reaching its final phase. Splendid, isn't it? But despite the danger I can't leave before I've analyzed the final results."
Seemingly annoyed by his words, Gail aims his gun at Kirk and responds with a cold voice, "I couldn't care less about the results. I have orders to take you back. So shut your mouth and follow me."
Approaching Regina, I make a casual comment, "I knew they weren't the rescue team. I doubt the distress call was sent." Regina, looking at me from the corner of her eye, crosses her arms without responding.
Bringing the conversation to an end, Gail turns to both of us, saying, "Regina, locate the communication facility and call the rescue helicopter."
Waving his hand dismissively as if throwing a tantrum, Kirk exclaims, "You can't do this to me! I have rights!"
Mocking his tantrum, Gail replies, "According to the command, you belong to the government, kid. I suggest you take it up with them."
Furious at his words, Kirk begins to shout, "No! You can't! They abandoned me three years ago, and now they want me back? It's absurd!"
"Shut up."
"Then shoot me, you fool! Idiot, damn government lackey..."
"Shut up! Where's the communication room?"
Seeing that Kirk didn't answer her, Gail brought her gun close to Kirk's chest, not flinching, Kirk didn't answer her, seeing that we are wasting a lot of time I decide it's time to talk.
"He's coming up the elevator from the control room, you need a card to access the elevator" Noticing my presence Kirk exclaims "Axel, what are you doing with them? Are you on their team too? Damn it!"
"Calm down, Doctor. I have nothing to do with them; we just met while I was trying to escape from this disaster caused by your experiment." This time, Gail points his gun at me as well, taking Regina aback with his team captain's behavior.
"So, which one of you has the card?" With a raised eyebrow at Gail's change in demeanor, I decide not to make a scene and, with a shrug, I turn to face Dr. Kirk.
Seeing where my gaze is directed, Gail demands the card from Kirk, "Well, it seems you have the card. So give it to me... now!"
Unhappy with the situation, Kirk reaches into his pocket, pulls out the card, and reluctantly hands it over. Regina takes the card.
"We're ready. We'll meet on the helipad." Confused by Gail's sudden change in behavior, Regina asks him, "Wait, where are you going?"
"I have some unfinished business to attend to. You take care of these two with Rick. He'll watch over them while you reestablish communication." Regina looks at Gail with suspicion, murmuring to herself.
While observing how the scene unfolds, I approach Kirk, and with my usual attitude, I make a witty comment, "Certainly, it's a cockroach, Dr. First, he survived the accident three years ago, and now he manages to survive this Dino Crisis."
"You and your stupid jokes. How come you didn't die like everyone else?" What they don't know is that during the two weeks I "worked," I approached Kirk and managed to get to know him a bit. Unlike the other scientists who avoided him, I approached him, and that, along with my ideas for his experiment, earned me Kirk's recognition.
"Well, Dr. Kirk, I used the weapons and prototypes in the weapons testing area to ensure my survival a bit more." Surprised, Kirk looks at my weapons and nods his head.
While we chat, Regina approaches us. "Alright, gentlemen, do either of you know how to get to the control room from here?" Smirking, I gesture toward her, explaining how to get there.
"We have to pass through that door right there." I point to the door next to a partially devoured corpse. "We'll enter the material transport vestibule and then take the door in front, allowing us to access the generator area in the rear of the facility. From there, we can reach the control room."
Regina nods appreciatively. "Thank you." We move on to the control room, reaching the back of the facility without any issues.
Reaching the corridor that will lead us to the control room, I notice the surroundings are eerily quiet. Remembering that in the game, a velociraptor appears at this point, I prepare my weapon. Just as we're about to turn the corner, the glass shatters as a velociraptor lunges towards Regina with its claws extended. In an instant, I fire.
Bang! Bang!
I kill the raptor, and part of its head disintegrates from the powerful shots, with one of its limbs falling off. The raptor falls near Regina's feet, and she gives the corpse a swift kick. Regina looks at me and nods in gratitude. Kirk watches the scene, apparently in shock. "Such fascinating weaponry," he mumbles.
"Well, I'm flattered that you find them fascinating. It's my pest control tool." Rolling her eyes at my cocky comment, Regina takes Dr. Kirk and proceeds to move towards the ventilation duct that will take us to the control room.
As they're about to leave, I notice that one of the raptor's claws is broken. Bending down, I pick it up as a keepsake.
"Hurry, Axel, don't lag behind."
"I'm coming..." I stop what I was about to say, almost bursting into laughter as I see Regina tying up Kirk to hoist him into the ventilation duct. As I get closer, I can see Kirk's face, which is red from my mocking laughter.
"Well, that's a unique way to lift someone." Activating the rope switch for Kirk, Regina looks back at me with a half-smile and says, "Jealous? Don't worry; I can provide the same service for you, too."
Shaking my head and seeing that it was gone I proceed to pull out my hook gun, offering it to him, she takes it and nimbly climbs up the vent and then throws the hook gun back at me.
Making our way to the control room, we find Regina's partner "Rick, I'm going to reestablish communications. For now, look after Kirk. The other guy can take care of himself." Regina gives me a slight smile and heads to the elevator.
Before she goes up, I call her, "Regina, activating the antenna might attract the T-rex that's roaming the facility, so take this." Approaching her, I give her my Casull. "Be very careful," I say with concern in my voice.
"I will," she replies with a serious nod, recalling the encounter she had with a T-rex earlier.
As she enters the communication room, she can't help but think about how Axel's concerned tone made her feel. As one of the top S.O.R.T combatants, people rarely worried about her because they knew what she was capable of.
"Having someone who cares about me, even though he's seen what I'm capable of, makes me feel good. I guess I can get used to this feeling."
Arriving in the communication room, she starts working on reestablishing the connections.
