Kiya was in school when it happened. It was sixth-period science class, and she was already dreading going home. It's not that she particularly liked school, but it was at least better than at her house. It was always quiet there. Here, there was at least someone talking, even if it was as boring as shit. She wasn't even paying full attention, just staring out the window, watching the birds flying, the sunrise painting the clouds pink, the- wait, a sunrise?
"How could there be a sunrise at 2:00 pm?"She squinted her eyes, trying to get a closer look outside."If it's not a sunrise, then what?..." She then realized that the pink glow was moving closer, washing over the land like the shadow of a predator about to strike.
"Hey, Ms. Tabernacle?"
"It seems I was talking, Kiya, next t-"
"Ms. Tabernacle, look outside, it's pink!" one of the students exclaimed.
Everyone turned to look out the window, only to feel a strange, tingling, burning sensation as a harsh pink wind swept over the school.
