Diana paled. She looked at her father with worry. If he would pass the gold to her, she could be saved. But then he might be investigated too. And it would be impossible that they have exact value of gold coins.

Graham realized it too. He looked at Damien for a leeway but Dami did not look back at them. His eyes were only on his new wife as if she was the only one in this large room.

Diana gritted her teeth.

"My lord, we have been the oldest family serving you. Must you degrade us by questioning us in front of everyone." she bowed her head and her back quivers. She looks so vulnerable that it earned the sympathy of many. 

They all whips red and looked at Damien as if he was a cold hearted bastard. Evan hesitated too. She was ready to be a villain but she did not want Dami to be put in a tight spot. Just when she was contemplating if she should take a step back, Damien laughed.
