The first quarter moon had already disappeared behind the clouds, and Shen Yue didn't answer Gao Jie's question directly. Instead, he looked at Li Yawei, who was still shivering in his arms, and asked, "Yawei, how are you feeling?"
Li Yawei, finally regaining some of her senses, clung tightly to Shen Yue and wouldn't let go. "Shen Yue, I think I've been possessed."
"Do you think I would believe you?" Gao Jie sneered. "I have ample evidence to accuse you of assaulting a police officer and attempting to murder. No matter how you try to justify yourself, with so many people witnessing this, your going to jail is inevitable!"
"You're saying I shot you?" Li Yawei looking at Gao Jie's bleeding leg, hesitated. "No way, I hate you, yes, but not to the extent of shooting you. I didn't fire that gun!"
Turning to Shen Yue, Li Yawei asked uncertainly, "Shen Yue, did I really fire that gun?"
