Magician and Underdog
After that one missed chance, Beaton gained control of the game. Their control didn't yield any fruitful chances though. They basically knocked the ball around in an attempt to draw out the Teesside players and find space to exploit. Any time a player was about to fall out of the compact shape Steve had instructed them to form, Michael would yell at them from the sidelines. It astonished Omari how loud Michael's voice was even though he was so far away.
Even though Beaton dominated the possession for such a long time, Teesside still managed to create a few chances on the counter. Unfortunately, poor decision making from the midfielders or the wingers led to the attack being easily dispelled by the opposition.

For the first time since the match began, Teesside had a lengthy spell in possession. They were mostly tapping the ball at the back, hoping to lure the wingbacks and the attacking players into their own half so that they could go on the offensive.
Unfortunately, it was as if the Beaton players had already seen through their tactics. None of them rushed forward and maintained a wide defensive shape to restrict the movement of the wingers out wide.
"Well, we might as well try and build something from the center" Dannie Fry (center back) thought to himself. He played a short pass to David who dribbled a few steps forward before looking up to his left. His lips curled into a smirk.
Omari who was closely marked by the right back suddenly ran into the box. At the same time, David played a long pass from the back to Mickey Forse (Center forward). Mickey headed the ball backwards into the feet of Omari, setting him up for a one on one with the goalkeeper.
Pinpoint finishing!
Omari allowed the ball to bounce once before smashing it on the half volley towards the post. The Beaton goalkeeper was rooted to the spot. There was really nothing he could do. The ball was too fast and well placed for him . He could only watch as the net rippled due to the force of the ball smashing against it.
'Abracadabra, Teesside take the lead. Magic indeed. David Arkenberg, the magician waves his little wand and creates that bit of magic. Omari Hutchingson, making that brilliantly timed run into the box to make him receive the ball from Forse. He had no mercy on Meslir, smashing the ball ruthlessly into the top corner'
'What a goal that was for sure. The underdogs have stepped on the toes of the big boys. The underdog, stepped on the toes of the big boys. Omari Hutchingson. Been playing cautiously since he came on, not really showing off his abilities there. But his awareness and positioning must be, as the kids say these days, on flick, for him to be there when he was there. Andrev Grai (menace of a right back) didn't even notice as Hutchingson slipped away. Positioning check, awareness check, and explosive finishing check'
'I'm really interested in seeing how much the dynamic of the match is going to change. As you said, the underdogs have gone and stepped on the toes of the big boys. They've gone and poked a hornet's nest. How can they deal with what ensues after?'
Omari on the other hand, wasn't listening to what they were saying. He had a grin on his face as he ran in front of the home crowd and held his arms aloft.
"I'm here" He screamed to the crowd watching.
The crowd seemed to be in love with the little show he was putting up, they responded with an increase in the crescendo of their cheers and screams for goals. This deepened the smile on Omari's face. There was no better feeling for an upcoming footballer than to know they were trusted by the manager and they were loved by the club's fan base.
After Omari finished celebrating, the match restarted. The Beaton players were on the attack from the get go, causing the Teesside players to drop back into defense.
Instead of using the 4-5-1 shape like they were instructed. Teesside ended up forming a 4-3-1-1 shape. Omari dropped back to help the two center midfielders while Lucien Eingel (right winger) played as a number 10.
Even though Steve and Michael were angry that the players didn't play according to the tactics given to them, they couldn't help but nod their heads when they realized that the formation was actually very effective.
They made the Beaton defensive players focused on the central side of the pitch, leaving space side of the pitch. The transition was actually very easy for everyone… except Omari. The way they were playing, whenever the opportunity for a counterattack arose, everyone would stay in the exact same position, except Omari who had to make runs in order to exploit the excess space of the width.
Even though any winger would enjoy that kind of freedom, the toll it took on him made the enjoyment far less valuable than the price. What was the point of having all the freedom in the world if he couldn't do anything with it?
Towards the closing stages of the match, Omari couldn't even do anything with the ball. Noticing his fatigue, Michael decided to sub him off. Omari had performed so well that Michael forgot that he was but a teenager.
Nothing really special happened towards the end of the match. Michael took out the two teenagers and brought in two center backs. Until the final whistle, Middlesbrough remained on the defensive.
'And the referee has blown the final whistle. It ends here Teesside one, Beaton nil. There were times in the match where everyone watching probably felt that Beaton should've taken the lead several time, but lady luck seemed to be on Teesside's side today'
'One moment of magic was all it took. David Arkenberg waved his magic wand and creating that beautiful pass to Forse. The latter headed the ball onto Hutchingson who smashed the ball at the goalkeeper, no mercy at all. Teesside have all three points'
