"W-what?!" The pirates poked their ears. 

Wasn't the miracle doctor a good samaritan who healed the poor and did not ask anything in return? What kind of doctor wanted to be paid beforehand, and one thousand gold at that?!

"You hear me right. Pay now or leave, the door is behind you," Violet pointed her finger to the entrance. 

"And when you leave my clinic, think twice before returning. I hate rude men who disturb my night's sleep. And I also won't heal your blinded eyes, even if you bring me all the treasure in the world," she said, and the ice shards vibrated threateningly. She meant every word she said.

"Wait!" The pirates stopped her from leaving with the nurse. They looked at each other and let out a deep sigh before rummaging through their pockets. Soon, a small pile of coins, jewellery and other rarities appeared on the table.

"That's all we have… Please save our captain!"
