章 103: Chapter 103-104 - Battle with Mamushi
Soren then started leading Haku back towards his boat that was waiting along the shoreline, the whole time Haku was following Soren he felt a tinge of fear towards Soren. After Soren thought of what to say to Haku he then turned towards him and spoke.
[Haku… I'm sorry I killed your parents… I had no clue that they were your parents nor that you all could think and talk like humans… I hope that you can forgive me]: soren
Soren had apologized to Haku for killing his parents, but what Soren didn't expect was what Haku's next words were.
[Don't worry about them… I had never saw my parents as how Humans see their parents… As you seen earlier, my mother left me just to save herself… And my parents couldn't form the human language like I can, I was one of the Enlightened Beasts]: haku
Soren heard Haku's words and felt less guilty about what happened but still felt a bit guilty for tearing a child away from its parents. When Soren heard the part about Enlightened Beasts from Haku he got curious and asked.
[These "Enlightened Beasts"... Are they rare? Do they only appear in your race?]: soren
[Enlightened Beasts are any race of beast that has formed enough intellect and self awareness towards the laws of this world… I was lucky enough to break the threshold that blocked me and my family from reaching the Enlightenment stage]: haku
Soren took in the words said by Haku and pondered about them only to come up with nothing to show, Soren then thought to ask Sakura about it when she finishes updating. Soren then came out of his thoughts and began to take off his blindfold that has been tied around his head since he began his training to raise his self conscious awareness, when Soren saw Haku's appearance he felt that he was just a cute oversized Black dog, Soren then spoke which spooked Haku but not as much as before Soren apologized for his actions.
[Haku… Would you like to join me in my adventures? I could use a guard dog like you hehe]: soren
When Haku heard Soren call him a guard dog he felt a bit angry that all he amounted to was just a mut in Soren's eyes, but Haku would never dare to reveal these thoughts. Haku sat for a moment so he could decide on either to take Soren up on his offer or decline and live alone for the rest of his life. Haku would never admit it but due to him being an Enlightened Beast he felt just a tad bit connected to his parents, he did feel a little pain when they died but it quickly went away, Haku didn't want to start living alone now that his parents are gone. After Haku though over every aspect of Soren's offer Haku decided to take the offer, even if it meant becoming Soren's slave or if Soren decided to kill him later just for some food, Haku then spoke up.
[I will accept your offer and join you on your journey, it beats staying on this boring island reigning at the top of the food chain… So where will we be going next Master?]: haku
When Soren heard Haku call him master he felt uneasy so he spoke up to correct Haku.
[There's no need to call me Master, I haven't enslaved you… Just call me Soren]: soren
When Haku heard Soren's words he felt relieved, Halu then started to smile, he then closed his eyes and aimed his head towards the ground and started to shake. Soon Haku's whole body started to glow with a blinding light, and after the light disappeared the giant Haku that was a towering 4 meters was now only a little puppy at 32cm. When Soren say this he started to question Haku.
[How are you able to transform into a cute little puppy?]: soren
[Enlightened Beasts can shapeshift into anything they want and the smaller they go from their original size their power will condense and become stronger]: haku
Soren was taken by this power and thought on how powerful he could become if he had the same power, this was yet another thing he would have to look into when Sakura comes back. Soren didn't waste anymore time and brought Haku on board his ship and started getting ready to sail to the next island. Misha then came out of her room and saw Haku next to Soren and couldn't help but rush up to Haku and take him into her arms hugging and squashing him between her 2 melons.
[Oh what a cute dog!... Husband! How did you know Misha wanted one?]: misha
Soren turned to see Haku in Misha's arms with a tinge of red forming on his cheeks, he then thought to himself.
'Can he even show a blush? Due to the fur and it's color being Black, how can Haku even show a blush?... No, must be Anime Logic at work here': soren
Soren quickly snapped out of his thoughts and spoke to Misha about Haku and about everything that happened, after about 2 hours of storytelling Misha understood everything that happened and then welcomed Haku aboard. Soren then started sailing aimlessly throughout The New World stopping at some island to restock on food and water supplies, Soren then thought it was time to start heading back towards the first half of the Grand Line or also known as Paradise. After a day of leisurely sailing Soren could see far into the distance a giant Elephant walking through the ocean, Soren quickly started heading towards it knowing full well what it was.
[Looks like I can stop at Zou next… Maybe I can push my Observation Haki to the next stage, I have been stuck at a bottleneck for a while… If I can break through then I will be able to see 3 seconds into the future]: soren
Soren then start to sail as close as he could to the giant Elephant. It took him about an hour and a half before he got a good distance to the Elephant, Soren then started rising from the boat before using his hand to cover the boat in Armament Haki which reached the next level where it became completely Black with no glow or shine to it, the boat turned completely Black shocking both Misha and Haku but when they found out it was just Soren their worries went away. Soren then started to lift the boat out of the ocean and fly up towards the top of the Elephant where the Island of Zou was located, once he reached the top he started to fly towards the Island landing in a forest clearing, Soren then put the boat down and went back on board to tell Misha that he would be gone for a bit. Soren then left the boat leaving Haku with Misha for protection while he went to go make friends with the Islanders, after walking for 10 minutes Soren got out of the dense forest and came to a clearing where some houses were built, he then started walking further towards the town that was right ahead. Once Soren was spotted someone shouted which drew everyone's attention, soon Soren was surrounded by warriors, some with Swords, some with Spears and some with Guns. Soren didn't want to fight and make enemies so he just put his hands up in surrender, the warriors surrounding Soren then started to poke him to make him walk back to base so they can process and jail him.
[Guy's… There's no need to poke at me, I came here to talk with your leader and make friends]: soren
Soren tried smooth talking his way out of his situation but to no avail, the warriors don't know who this person who showed up was, all they knew was anyone who can come up here without invitation was definitely up to no good. Soon Soren was sitting in a chair with some stolen Marine handcuffs cuffed around his wrists, there was a Rabbit girl with a Yellowish Orange hair wearing an Orange one piece dress with a green cape sitting behind a desk going through wanted papers while occasionally looking up at him only to shake her head and go back to looking at wanted posters.
'So they got Carrot looking for my wanted poster… What luck, I wonder if I can sway her into a conversation': soren
Soren then broke the silence with a cough and started speaking.
[*Cough* Hello… My name's Soren. What's yours?]: soren
Carrot the looked up once more then looked down again while shuffling through the papers a 3rd time before grabbing one and shouted.
[Ah Ha! I found it… Lets see…]: carrot
Carrot then came before Soren with 2 wanted posters and showed them both to him while asking.
[Are these both you?]: carrot
Soren looked at the posters, one was Blue Reapers bounty which was raised from 100 million to 400 million berries, and the other one was a picture of his beautiful face with flowing blue hair, it had a bounty of 60 million. The crimes for his second one were stated at Running from the government and probable cause of terrorist attacks against the Marines under the name Blue Reaper. Soren looked at both wanted posters and spoke.
[Yes… Both are me… But they are completely wrong, I was attacked by the Marines and was just defending myself… I'm quite surprised actually… How has the Bounty on Blue Reaper gone up like that?]: soren

When Soren looked at the new bounty on Blue Reaper he had wondered how it went up, but like God had answered him Carrot spoke.
[You should know… Just 3 months ago you went and destroyed a Marine base killing 5 Captains and injured a lower Vice Admiral… You then went on to state that you would kill anyone who was sent at you, then disappeared into the wind like you were never there]: carrot
Soren was surprised to hear about a story of himself but not himself, he had many ideas come to mind about who might impersonate him but couldn't think of who he pissed off most. He then tried to sweet talk Carrot again, while Carrot looked at Soren in fascination, Soren then spoke up while grabbing Carrots attention.
[You know… That wasn't me… I have laid reclusive and out of sight for many years, I even forgot about what I did to get a bounty in the first place… I'm just a plain adventurer now]: soren
Carrot was caught by Soren's words and couldn't help but start questioning him about what his life was like being an Adventurer, Soren answered the best he could as the questions were asked so fast he couldn't think of an answer before another one was asked, and after 2 and a half hours of Q&A Carrot finally broke and saw Soren as someone interesting that she wanted to follow and go on adventures with.
[If I free you can you take me with you?]: carrot
Soren didn't hesitate to answer Carrot.
[No… My journey is going to have lots of battle and bloodshed, I already have to watch over my Wife so she doesn't get hurt… And I also think you will get off of her sooner than you think]: soren
Soren hinted towards the future when Luffy will arrive here and Carrot will join them. Soren seeing Carrots pouty face couldn't help but crack a smile as he spoke once more.
[Anyways… I'm here to speak with the leaders of this Island, and then I will be off… Like I said before, I never came here to harm any of you]: soren
Carrot looked at the handcuffed Siren and covered her mouth with her left hand while hiding her chuckle. She then spoke up in a condescending tone.
[You say you never meant to harm us but even if your intent was to harm do you think you would have won? Look at you, your still bound by cuffs you silly… But I don't mind removing the cuffs if you promise to take me adventuring with you hehe]: carrot
Soren just looked at her with her mischievous antics before he raised both his hands up towards her showing ger the cuffs. Carrot took this as a sign that she won the battle and got her way, she then took the keys to the cuffs and turned back to Soren who was still there with his hands in the air, but just as she was about to use the keys while humming a Victory song with her eyes closed she heard a *Chrank* sound, and as she opened her eyes with the key in her hand she saw Soren with broken cuffs around both of his wrists and a smile plastered on his face.
[ H-how!?... Just what are you?... Wait! You could break those the whole time!?]: carrot
Soren could see the looks of confusion still lingering on Carrot's face, Soren then gave her a slight chuckle while he brought his right leg and crossed it over his left, he then placed his hands into his lap and started to speak.
[I can fight evenly with a Marine Admiral, do you think these pesky cuffs could hold me?... Anyway, can you take me to your leader now?]: soren
Carrot who was still confused about how strong the guy was and still let himself get captured, Carrot then snapped out of her thoughts when Soren spoke about visiting her leader, she quickly thought against it but then thought about how strong this guy was and about all the innocent lives on this Island, and after a quick debate she reluctantly took Soren to meet their leader.
Soren was brought to a building that looked like your average office building, it had 3 floors with both floors below the 3rd floor having rooms filled with warrior's. On the 3rd floor It was an open space with a couple of desk's around with people looking through files, and in the back by the window there is a desk with a big yellow Cat like man with a scar going down the left side of his face, Soren knew this guys name was Nekomamushi, one of the leaders of the Mink tribe. Mamushi saw Soren standing next to Carrot and thought that some pirate had swindled the airheaded Carrot, he then quickly got into a battle stance ready to fight Soren.
[Who are you and why are you here! Answer in 5 seconds or I will kill you where you stand]: mamushi
Soren couldn't stand threats, he then raised his hand towards Mamushi and it started to get covered in a Black lightning that gave off a yellow glow. Mamushi saw this and knew that nothing good would come from this pirate and quickly attacked towards Soren not giving Soren the chance to finish his attack.
[Take this you fuckin pirate!]: mamushi
Mamushi attacked Soren left and right covering his claws in Armament Haki while using Observation Haki to its limits hoping to see any gaps in Sorens defences. Soren was dodging all of Mamushi's attacks but by just a hair, soon Soren closed his eyes and started trying to feel where Mamushi would strike next, he also tried to feel where he would strike 3 turns from now. Mamushi saw Soren close his eyes and thought that the pirate before him was just giving up so he attacked faster and stronger to end the battle. Soon cut after cut began to form all over Soren's body, and due to all the torture from his childhood growing up he felt no pain from these attacks, and because he felt no pain Soren could put even more focus into training his Observation Haki to the next stage. As Mamushi's attacks got faster Soren also began to see more of the attacks, soon Soren was dodging before the attacks were thrown, he could now see 4 hits into the future and make corrections, Soren then thought to himself while he continued to dodge Mamushi's attacks.
'This is awesome… But this is still far from Future sight, but not too far… If I were to fight Katakuri I would still lose but I got everything I could from Mamushi… I guess it's time to explain myself': soren
Soren then stopped dodging and covered his hands in Armament Haki while grabbing Mamushi's hands, the battle stopped there and Soren started to speak while still holding Mamushi's hands to keep him from attacking. And after a couple of minutes Mamushi understood everything, he then stood up from the chair he occupied after Soren got half way through his story and gave Soren a 90° bow while apologising.
[I am truly sorry for attacking you with no context as to who you are or why you came here, I hope you can forgive my actions… Now can you tell me your reason for visiting us?]: mamushi
[Well… I already got it, I came to spar with you so I could improve my Observation Haki… You may not be a strong opponent, but you are the fastest one that I have faced]: soren
Mamushi was shocked for words, he couldn't help but be happy and sad at the same time for he was happy that he was the fastest that Soren had ever battled with, but sad that he was not stronger than others that he faced. Mamushi knew that he was neither the fastest nor the strongest in the New World but still had pride, and Soren just ruined it by saying those words.
[I'm happy that I could help… So where will you go now?]: mamushi
Siren thought about it for a moment before he spoke, and after thinking he then told Mamushi his plans for the future.
[I will start making my way back to Paradise to meet up with some friends, then I will do some fishing to pass the time… Maybe even kill some pirates who kill innocents]: soren
Mamushi was surprised to hear that Soren would rather pass time fishing and talking with friends than to rule over an Island or find the One Piece that was stated to be at the end of the New World.

Mamushi handed Soren a Vivre card that was linked to him and sent Soren off at the edge of town, Soren then went back to his ship that was deep into the forest, once he got back he informed Misha and Haku about his trip, he then covered the ship in Armament Haki once more and picked up the ship then flew off the Elephant back down to the sea below and started sailing back to Paradise.
