August 17th, 1349 of the Fifth Epoch
Three days later Max walked out of a nearby cave with a few books he had written with the help of the old man. It contained the basic translation alphabets of this world, and how to pronounce them in English. This was done to prevent those on Earth from easily understanding what this was.
The other book contained most of the common words of this world, translated to words in English, as well as the phonetical description of each word. This way, Max had the basics in order to understand this world. However it would take him some time to actually become fluent in it, and there would be countless words he would not know.
But it was a start, and that was all he needed. Of course, he also got the old man to draw him a rough map of the surroundings, with the mountains and geographical landmarks as a pathway to follow before reaching the nearby villages, as well as the city which was at the end of the map.
Also, he took the time to get as much information about this world and the kingdom as he could. This information was also difficult, but using the basic dictionary he had created, Max was able to string together a few questions and translate the answers back.
The world they were in did not actually have a name, so Max just decided to be a little conceited and named it Independence, since it would truly be his first step towards independence from the 'rules' of the Earth and the mysterious beings that currently control it, or loom over it.
'Just think about the say I unite the entire world under one banner, making it free from their previous rulers. It would be the Independence Day for the world of Independence…'
As for their current kingdom, it was a kingdom whose name was incredibly difficult to pronounce in English, and even felt like the world combinations of Ancient Feysac, Ancient Hermes, and a few fictional languages; Atrhogfeglictens…. So, he simply renamed it to Athens in his mind… Perhaps one day even actually renaming it.
For now, though, Max walked out of the cave and made himself lighter, collecting a lot of wood and dried leaves, and placing them all over the ground of the cave. Then, he picked up a cold corpse and lightened it as well, before heading off into the distant woods, where he dropped off the body in chunks near separate animal nests, before returning to the cave.
He took out a few matchsticks and lit a piece of bark on first, before using it to light the dried vegetation in the cave on fire. With this, all evidence had been cleared. Max kept his abilities switched on for a while longer and went to the nearest stream, where he turned off his powers and removed all possible scents and other evidence from his body, before turning on his powers and making hast for almost half a day.
Only now did he feel his Spirituality being stretched and he decided to stop using his powers for the time being. Instead, he decided to set up camp here. He took out a miniature shovel from the inside of his suit and began digging. The soil was soft, but not damp, meaning there would likely not be much rain anytime soon, allowing Max to rapidly complete his hole.
The inner child of Samuel was rather satisfied with his work. Often times when he was young he would go to the beach with his parents and with the tiny shovel and bucket he was given to build a sand castle, he would try to dig a hole, only to be stopped by his parents.
As he got older, the number of times he went to the beach reduced, and it was generally with friends, where they would much rather either chill in the water or play some sports on the beach.
Ultimately, his aspirations as a child to dig a hole in the ground were left at just that, aspirations. Well until now! Marvelling at his handiwork for a while, Max got back to work, picking a few wooden logs and placing them in the hole strategically. He summoned back the door and placed it below the wood, before filling up the area above the wood with rocks and soil, leaving only a tiny hole for him to squeeze into to access the door. He also reverse-summoned all the notes directly to the Amalgamation of All, so no
Finally, he used an odd knot he had seen on YouTube one random night while following its random algorithm, which would not open when being pulled, but the moment the pulling force it removed, it unravelled on its own, to secure to log from the centre, and another normal knot to secure the wood from one side.
Then, he smoothened the end where the normal knot was, before placing all the remaining rocks and soil between the wood and the hole. Sliding into it carefully, with the two ropes in hand, Max used the key to open the door back to Earth but did not walk all the way through, and instead pulled on the odd knot at the centre of the wooden log, causing a lot of it to fall into the small hole he had dug himself until it was all loosely filled, a bit of wood preventing the dirt and stones from falling into his room back on Earth.
Letting go of the odd knot for a second, Max pulled on it again and the rope came back easily through the loose soil and rocks, with no log. Then, he pulled on the normally tied rope and it was a lot harder, but he successfully pulled the log into the area with the door and used it to prevent more soil from getting in.
With everything done, Max patted himself down a bit before walking through to Earth, taking his key with him and closing the door behind him.
'Back home…' Max shrugged and entered the Sefirot and cleansed himself, clearly realising he had not been influenced since he had spent the entire day on the other side. Of course, Max had also done this experiment in the past few days when he returned for food and other necessities while keeping the door in the cave during the learning time with his sla- teaching intern…
This was the first time Max had camped outside the safety of the cave and he wanted to ensure that the door would not be broken on accident by a passing animal or humans, as the possibility of him reaching there again would be incredibly low; close to impossible.
Once he was back at the hotel room, Max immediately went to the restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel, had a nice hot meal, and packed with enough preserved food for the rest of the meals of the day, and then returned to his room.
This was what he had done for the past three days since he had discovered the new world of Independence, so he would not have to waste time searching for and gathering safe food.
…
Returning to Independence, Max used his hands to make a small hole in the loose soil and rocks, enough for air and light to enter the area created by the wooden logs holding up the soil and rocks.
Using the chalk and candles, he brought back the texts to translate the language used in Athens and just began reading. He simply could not risk this information being delivered to people like certain Angels back on Earth, or the Gods, or worse existences, one or more of whom were already actively trying to influence his mind. As such, not only had he written all the translations in English, he had also not brought it to Earth at all, and instead stored it in the Amalgamation of All.
Thus, once he was back in the safety of the new world; Independence, Max immediately brought out the books and began to study. He knew most of his time would be spent like this, just reading in the safety of another world, safe from the terrifying existences that were in and surrounded Earth.
Time quickly passed with Max just reading in his mind, then trying to speak out loud in a very robotic and broken way.
…
Meanwhile, two young kids were in a carriage nearing Warriors & Sea bar at Pelican Street, in the White Rose Borough of the Pritz Harbour. Both had brown hair of slightly differing shades, and both wearing moderately decent clothes and flat caps. The one with deep and mysterious black eyes was Ademisaul, and the other with fiery brown eyes was Tom.
"Listen… I've been thinking. Since we finally got out, after completing the mission, should we spend some time exploring Pritz Harbour?" Ademisaul asked while fidgeting his toes.
"… No. Mister said that we need to return as soon as possible. This is an important mission," Tom replied in a serious manner.
"I- I'm not saying that we waste time… What I am saying is that exploring the Harbour will be beneficial for Mister if he were to need some information from here. Maybe… we can even bring in some kids to join us and help Mister."
"… No, he has already told you about it. We are not to bring in others to work with us until he tells us to bring in others… But you are right, we should spend some time collecting information. Alright, this is how we will do it. You go and explore; we will meet back at the train station in two days' time. By then, I will have completed the mission. How about that?"
"Yes! Great! See you later!" Ademisaul said as he jumped out of the moving carriage and happily skipped along the roads of the Harbour.
Meanwhile, Tom stayed in the carriage as it moved towards Pelican Street. He was he to deliver a package and receive a package in return, as Mister had said.

Chapter length: 1751 words
A pretty good chapter if I do say so myself. Also, for all those who voted for an entirely mc centred plot, please remember that weekly there are Tarot club meetings, and mc is going to take some time at the very least to learn the new language.
So it will take some time...
