However, my smile became a sword stabbing at Elizabeth's pride. Her icy gaze shot at me like arrows. "What are you laughing at?!"

"Of course, it's you, Elizabeth. Your arrogance and the talk of being 'born noble' are incredibly laughable."

I paused, calmly staring at Elizabeth's gradually contorting features, and continued, "If your pack is truly as noble and powerful as you claim, how come you disappeared from the werewolf society? For centuries, you've lived like mice."

"Shut up, you idiot!"

Elizabeth angrily slapped the table, knocking over the coffee on it. The sound quickly attracted the lazy waiter who had been hiding behind the counter.

Casting a glance at us, the waiter soon sensed the tense atmosphere between Elizabeth and me. After hesitating for a moment, she nervously approached.
