Gloria picked up the phone.
Before she could speak, Jonathan said, "Are you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine."
Jonathan frowned, "I had someone inquire about you."
"There's no need to bother." Gloria's voice sounded calm.
Jonathan sighed helplessly, "You always think I'm using you and everything I do has a purpose."
Gloria's lips compressed into a thin line. She didn't want to say anything, but she had to.
After a while, she sighed, "You're overthinking this."
Jonathan knew what Gloria was thinking, so he didn't bring up the subject again. Instead, he spoke quietly.
"Jordy got me in some trouble, or I would have called you in the first place." This was a statement.
Gloria was a little surprised.
But she didn't suspect him of lying.
To the extent that Jonathan desired to use her, he would come to her as soon as he could.
But he didn't show up today. Something must have happened.
