Jordy looked back, and to his surprise, his father showed up at the door.
Newell was surprised to see Jordy. "You're here?"
Jordy averted his eyes from his face, not wanting to answer him.
Newell walked over to the bed, looked down at Gloria's pale face, and sighed, "She fell from a high place but only broke a rib. Lucky for her."
"Lucky?" Jordy's eyes glinted ironically.
Newell turned to him and looked bewildered. "What's wrong?"
Jordy didn't answer.
He knew that this was not about luck at all, but a combination of Gloria's clear mind and great driving skills. At that critical time, few women could protect themselves and their friends like Gloria at the expense of a rib when they fell from such a high place.
Jordy had all kinds of complicated feelings.
He always considered Gloria a scheming, vain, and self-interested woman, but in that case, she was able to protect Nydia so that she survived unscathed.
