She whispered this, and then smiled at Karen, "Yes, grandma, Lillian came up with this idea temporarily. There is no need to compare them like this. She suggested that because she felt it was novel. Please don't take it to heart."
She was like pleading for Lillian, but some people would wonder if Karen was too partial.
