章 191: Ch. 191: Clash of the Super Saiyans (3)

I couldn't help but laugh. I'd run through everything. My skill in hand-to-hand combat wasn't enough, he'd mastered Silver Mode to the highest safe point, so there wasn't any advantage there, he was expecting strange techniques from me, so little tricks like that altered Kamehameha from earlier weren't going to be too effective anymore, and my last resort, stealing his energy, had just cost me a good chunk of my energy.

I had other specialized techniques that I could theoretically bust out, but this wasn't the time, and they'd probably make my dad suspicious. I could unseal another bit of my power, but I faced the same problem. At this rate, I was going to lose this fight, yet I couldn't stop smiling. My blood was rushing like never before. Not even in those last moments before Frieza had killed me. I was throwing everything I could at Goku, and still I was being repelled. I couldn't see a single way to win as I was, and I'd never felt more alive.

So, I didn't have any reason to stop myself from taking the battle to the next stage.

"Dad, you're pretty incredible. No hard feelings when I beat you to a pulp, right?" I called out, shaking the numbness out of the arm that I'd tried to suck Goku's energy into as I prepared what remained of my energy.

"Only if you actually can!" He replied with a smirk. And with that, my hair flared golden and I went in for a punch.

...

"Just sit still... Your leg was a clean break, so I can heal it if you just sit... still." My dad chided me as I sat on a log, letting him treat my broken leg. Apparently, he'd learned the spirit control 'healing' technique that Cargo and Dende could use intuitively during his training under Raika. Though he wasn't very good at it, he'd offered to do it while the others who were watching our battle from a distance went to get Cargo, who'd been with other patients during our fight. Honestly, I didn't completely trust him (healing was pretty complicated), but if worst came to worst, I knew that I could fix it myself while I was testing it. The more experience he got, the less likely that he'd try and fail to heal himself in some emergency and die a stupid death that way.

Anyway, I'd obviously lost the fight, and in spectacular fashion, too. I'd expected that going Super Saiyan would've closed the gap between us, at least a little bit. I had about 50% of the possible power from the Super Saiyan transformation at my disposal. That didn't sound like too much, but it was actually pretty impressive. In canon, after getting out of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Goku likely had access to about 85% of the transformation's potential altogether, though only about 25% of it when he'd originally gotten back to Earth from Yardrat.

Half of the transformation's full potential was easily more than a 60 times multiplier of my base strength. I'd figured that the most control that my dad would have right now would still have to be less than that, but I'd been mistaken. He'd had more control than me, notably so. Around 75% of the transformation's potential, as a matter of fact. That meant that his power level had been a lot more than double mine. In the face of such an insane difference in strength, with my tricks being anticipated now, Goku had ended up breaking both my arm and my leg, despite my struggling.

With Cargo back at Legacy, just a few miles away, though, my injuries weren't really a big deal, so he'd offered to heal it himself as spirit control practice, and I'd had no reason to deny him, since pain and I were already old pals.

"So, you honestly don't know the basics of what that guy taught you?" I couldn't help but ask as my dad and I talked over the techniques he'd used in our fight. It'd become clear to me through the battle what Raika had taught him, and it actually scared me. true-ki-control, soul-energy-manipulation, bodily-transmission.

The trampoline technique had been a result of him using his ki to basically lower the concrete's density in certain ways while making the top layer take on an unusual elasticity. It wasn't basic ki control, but something deeper. A hop, skip, and jump from genetic alteration and regeneration, as a matter of fact. Instant Transmission, temporarily changing your body's composition to allow you to 'slip' through space on a small scale was a hat trick compared to that. Then, you had the trace amounts of 'consciousness' inside ki that'd already been severed from his control. That was a total next-level thing.

It was possible to 'program' ki to do something after you severed its link to you. Stay together for a certain time, explode, et. cetera, but in order to give it real, detailed commands, you needed to have 'contact' with it. Yamcha's spirit ball, used a small, imperceptible 'tether' through which he commanded it, but I severed that sort of thing and overwrote any other commands as I took control of foreign ki, which meant that his energy had chosen to rebel against my power without any input from its owner. The comparison between it and my perfect control was about the same as the difference between my dad's reflexes now and his reflexes after he'd mastered Ultra Instinct, but the fact remained that he'd gained the theoretical basis I'd managed to create my immortality technique on. If he continued to grow his spirit control like this, it was entirely possible, though admittedly unlikely, even for him, that he'd eventually manage to become an immortal existence like me.

But for now, he was definitely not anywhere near that level of immortality, as made readily apparent by the fact that he'd accidentally severed a few nerves in my leg as he'd been healing it. Luckily, I'd managed to fix the problem subtly with my own regeneration technique before he'd noticed, so I hadn't ended up losing the foot.
