章 22: Chapter 20: Journey to the Unknown: Galactic Patrol Training Begins
The landing dock was a desolate place, and an awkward silence hung in the air as Seraphine and Kai awaited the arrival of their Galactic Patrol mentor. Their animosity toward each other was palpable, and neither seemed willing to make the first move in breaking the silence.
Kai, always brimming with arrogance, couldn't resist taking a jab at Seraphine. "Just the thought that I'll have to train alongside you makes me want to puke," he sneered, barely hiding his disdain.
Seraphine shot him an annoyed glance. "Well, don't worry. I can't say I'm thrilled about being stuck with you either."
Kai's scowl deepened, and he was about to retort when Seraphine pointed toward a ship descending from the heavens, adorned with the unmistakable Galactic Patrol logo.
As the ship landed, the hatch opened, revealing a tall and imposing figure with a muscular build. He had a rugged beard and a scar that ran across his left eye, adding to his intimidating presence. His hair was jet-black, and he wore the iconic Galactic Patrol uniform with a unique flair.
With a hearty laugh, he introduced himself, "Hi there, my new students. Captain Kurogane at your service! Sorry I'm a little late," he added with a wink.
Kai and Seraphine exchanged puzzled glances but refrained from speaking out. They were both taken aback by the captain's imposing presence and the aura of authority he exuded.
"Come on, you two," Captain Kurogane said, gesturing toward the spaceship. "Enter the ship, and we'll be on our way."
The two trainees followed his lead, boarding the spacecraft. They stowed their belongings wherever they found a suitable spot and settled in for the journey.
Once inside, Seraphine couldn't help but muster the courage to ask, "So, Captain Kurogane, where are we headed for training?"
Kurogane grinned, his scarred eye giving him a rugged charm. "We're off to the 57th Galactic Patrol training facility. You'll find it to be quite the place, packed with challenges and lessons you've never experienced before. It's time to mold you into real Galactic Patrol officers."
As the ship began its journey into deep space, Seraphine and Kai exchanged a few more awkward words but soon fell silent, each lost in their thoughts about the challenges that awaited them.
Meanwhile, far from Earth on her own spaceship, Vaelithra prepared for her mission to retrieve the void key from the perilous planet Kurayami. Seated beside her were two female individuals, their cat-like ears the only visible features beneath their hoods.
Sylvara, with her silver hair and calm demeanor, spoke first. "Miss Vaelithra, can you tell us more about this Kurayami planet? We're curious about the dangerous individuals you mentioned."
Elara, her playful sister with pink hair, chimed in eagerly, her eyes gleaming with anticipation. "Yeah, it sounds exciting! We can't wait to face these challenges!"
Vaelithra smiled, her expression hidden by the hood but evident in her voice. "Kurayami is indeed a treacherous place, filled with powerful and unpredictable adversaries. But with your skills and my guidance, we'll navigate through it successfully. Just be prepared for anything."
As they hurtled through space toward their respective destinations, both groups braced themselves for the trials that lay ahead, unaware of the surprises and dangers that awaited them on their unique journeys.
