The door closed, leaving the room in a momentary silence. Emma could feel the weight of curious gazes upon her, but she remained composed, immersed in her work as if unaffected by the recent interaction.

Nina tapped Emma's arm with the back of her hand. "How could you be so harsh to the kind-hearted angel, Prince Alejandro? Huh? This is so unlike you since stepping foot in Dominic Grant, Emma!" She slammed some documents down and stormed out of the room.

Emma felt a knot tightening in her stomach.

Should she explain her history with Bright to Nina?

The thought of unveiling her past to anyone, especially about her relationship with Bright, was unsettling. Yet, Nina's bewildered reaction begged for some form of explanation.

"Oh, crap..."

Taking a deep breath, Emma decided to focus on work for now and deal with the situation later. The complex web of her past was something she wasn't ready to untangle just yet.
