章 136: Unbreakable
Hokage couldn't help but marvel at the unexpectedly high evaluation of Naruto. Yet, considering Naruto's tender age of twelve, his current prowess was already formidable. The prospect of his continued growth was both awe-inspiring and daunting.
With eight years of training already behind him, Naruto posed a significant threat to Konoha Village. In just four years, his strength had escalated to levels beyond comprehension. One could only imagine the heights he might reach by the time he turned twenty.
Turning to Jiraiya with hopeful eyes, Hokage awaited his response. However, Jiraiya, after a moment of contemplation, could only offer a rueful smile and a shake of his head. "What right do I have to intervene?" he mused aloud.
Recalling Naruto's similar inquiry in the past, Jiraiya couldn't help but feel a pang of remorse. After all, if Naruto hadn't brought it up, why should he now?
Hokage's anticipation turned to disappointment as Jiraiya's response sank in. "Did you send Ibis to question him?" Jiraiya inquired, sensing that Hokage might have had a hand in it.
Without hesitation, Hokage confirmed, expressing his concern. "I want to ascertain if there's any connection between him and that enigmatic organization. Have you heard of a figure called A Fei in the Ninja World?" he queried.
Jiraiya nodded reflexively. The name had indeed made its rounds recently. A masked individual known as A Fei had been making waves, challenging and besting 490 opponents without causing harm, and even rewarding them afterwards.
The allure of A Fei was undeniable. Many wandering ninjas were drawn to the romanticism and the financial boon he offered.
"I suspect A Fei might be Naruto," Hokage revealed suddenly.
Jiraiya's reaction was immediate. "Impossible! He's only twelve, whereas A Fei has bested challengers from every corner of the Ninja world, including our Konoha Village. Even the most formidable opponents have fallen to him," he exclaimed incredulously.
Acknowledging the exaggeration of the claims, Hokage nodded solemnly, recognizing the implausibility of the connection.
The Hokage pointed out, "Have you noticed that Naruto is now carrying double knives? And his hair color matches a lot of the info we got from ALFY. If that's just a coincidence, it's too much of one. Plus, Naruto's physique and height match what we've gathered from ALFY's intel."
"That's definitely suspicious," they added.
"But what's even more telling is that we've also heard rumors (acbg) that during Akatsuki's early days, there was this guy named Afei who traveled around recruiting S-level rebels from other villages as partners."
"When Naruto was doing his thing, he wasn't exactly keeping a low profile. Some folks knew he operated under the alias Afei for a while."
"Unfortunately, we've never heard from Uchiha Itachi since he joined Akatsuki. If he had, we'd know if Naruto is Afei," the Hokage suddenly dropped another bombshell.
Jiraiya was taken aback. "You're saying Itachi was one of ours? But didn't he wipe out the Uchiha clan?"
The Hokage gave Jiraiya a knowing look.
Jiraiya started sweating. He got the message loud and clear.
It seemed the Uchiha massacre had more to it than met the eye.
And the reason Itachi couldn't report back was because he was partnered up with Hoshigaki Kisame.
Naruto wasn't stupid. He'd met Kisame in private and claimed he'd carry on Uchiha Madara's legacy, continuing the Infinite Tsukuyomi plan to bring peace to the ninja world. He spun this tale to make people believe he needed to be ruthless to achieve his goals.
This revelation was like a slap in the face for Jiraiya, who had been duped by Obito countless times before.
Now, Naruto, with his plot armor, was manipulating Itachi to keep quiet.
Otherwise, Naruto's true identity would have been exposed long ago.
Naruto might already be on the path to becoming the mastermind behind the scenes, turning the Akatsuki and the ninja world upside down.
Meanwhile, he fed various factions a load of nonsense, making them believe he was sincere about his intentions.
He even ordered assassinations of key figures from Kirigakure, personally taking out many of his former allies.
But only a select few knew his true motives. Nagato and Konan were the only ones on the inside.
Meanwhile, in a clandestine chamber tucked away within Konoha Village, a place shrouded in secrecy, lay the village's interrogation facility. It was reserved for extracting information from spies or rogue ninjas.
Within one of its dimly lit cells, Naruto found himself confined within a circle of iron bars. His eyes scanned the room, landing on an array of torture tools mounted on the wall.
But Naruto chuckled to himself. Was this supposed to be intimidation? Psychological warfare to break his spirit and coerce information? Or perhaps a show of force, relying on threats to compel compliance?
This was Morino Ibiki's domain, renowned for his mastery of such tactics.
Yet, for Naruto, it held no sway.
The creak of the cell door interrupted his thoughts as Morino Ibiki entered, flanked by two Anbu operatives.
Ibiki's surprise was palpable as he noticed the discarded handcuffs on the table, while Naruto sat calmly, arms folded and legs crossed.
"What's going on? Restrain him," Ibiki ordered, a hint of apprehension in his voice.
Unperturbed, Naruto extended his hands, offering them to the Anbu to be cuffed once more.
But in the blink of an eye, the cuffs shattered as Naruto effortlessly broke free, demonstrating the same move that had freed him before.
The sight left Ibiki and his companions stunned.
Such strength and resilience were unprecedented. Even Might Guy would struggle, unless resorting to the Fifth Gate of the Eight Gates technique.
Yet, Naruto accomplished it with sheer physical prowess alone.
Years spent training under gravity's crushing weight had transformed him. His speed, amplified to unknown limits, danced on the verge of surpassing sound and even hinted at the realm of light.
And his strength? Well, it defied all conventional limits. Constantly honed under relentless gravity, his body had transcended ordinary human boundaries.
If a man under ten times Earth's gravity was deemed superhuman, then Naruto, under five hundred times that force, was a superman among supermen.
A body of steel? Child's play compared to him, even if lacking the overt superpowers of the legendary Superman.
