章 4: Elves and the Well of Eternity

Hu Feng began his long and endless plan of observing life, just like that.

Eternal life brought him not only immortality but also an enduring sense of loneliness that couldn't be shaken.

At his core, he remained a human being, and humans have always been social creatures.

Hu Feng now had two things to do: first, observe the diverse and vibrant life on the planet of Azeroth, and second, attempt to corrupt the two Ancient Gods parasitically residing within his planet's eggs.

Yes, in the depths of Sarodar planet's surface, there were also two Ancient Gods, undoubtedly the auxiliary reinforcements Void Lord had placed there during their confrontation.

After his escape through the spatial jump, Hu Feng immediately used Void Essence to tightly seal and imprison them, to prevent these two Old Gods from remotely communicating with the Void Lord in ways he didn't know.

His own Void Essence energy was incredibly pure, even surpassing the Void Lord. However, due to the unborn Titan body and his current state as a Titan Soul, his power was far weaker than the Void Lord's, and his control abilities were also below his.

But the exceptional purity of his Void Essence was crucial. These Ancient Gods were unnatural flesh creatures created by the Void Lord for warfare, weapons that could be controlled. That was beyond doubt.

So, Hu Feng began to intrude into the minds of the two Ancient Gods, attempting to alter their loyalty to their masters and become his own allies. In the process, he also practiced controlling the Void, honing his skills.

One of these Ancient Gods was the Thousand-Eyed Demon, a colossal mass covered with countless eyes. Its numerous tentacles carried even more eyeballs, blinking and giving it an oddly adorable appearance.

The other was the Beast of Ten Thousand Throats, covered with countless fangs and mouths, its tentacles the same.

This led Hu Feng to wonder whether the Void Lords used a standard template when creating Ancient Gods for mass production. Based on their facial features, each specialized in a different domain.

After completing his daily tasks of corruption and control, Hu Feng spent his remaining time talking to himself or observing the beings on Azeroth.

Oh, the reason for talking to himself was to avoid forgetting who he was or experiencing some kind of twisted outburst in the endless monotony. He certainly didn't want to suffer from some damn autism.

So, awakening self-consciousness prematurely wasn't all good; at least, loneliness was unavoidable.

Returning to the point, the beings on Azeroth were flourishing, completely unaware that a pair of eyes were peering at them every day.

Hu Feng had of course noticed the Guardians left behind by the Pantheon, the Five Dragon Aspects, and the Titan facilities scattered around the continent. But Hu Feng decided not to interact with them, not to meddle.

Hu Feng was well aware of his own situation as a Titan. Until he had the means to protect himself, it was best to avoid stirring up any unnecessary trouble.

As for the native creatures, Hu Feng was quite interested in the trolls. It might be because they were one of the two sentient species that had evolved... trolls and mantid. But mantid were different; only trolls had developed a splendid civilization, their empire spanning the entire continent. The other developed civilization was the Mogu Dynasty. The mogu had established a powerful yet dictatorial empire in the Pandaria region.

The troll and mogu empires, the two most powerful on the continents, had continued for countless years.

During this time, the trolls organized massive armies and conducted extermination campaigns against the surviving Qiraji near the Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj, ensuring that not a single living insect remained outside the grand wall.

However, Hu Feng had little interest in these two races. The mogu were fine; they were huge and thick, with faces resembling a mix between a qilin and a lion. His aesthetic preferences didn't align.

As for trolls... well, with their naturally tall stature, hunched posture, huge feet, and upward-pointing tusks, they had a wild appearance. Wild indeed, but his orientation and aesthetics were straightforward, and female trolls didn't interest him in the least.

Finally, a small migration of trolls caught Hu Feng's attention. They were settling by the shore of the Well of Eternity, the place where Azeroth's lifeblood gathered.

This troll tribe settled by the lake and formed a circle of primitive and crude villages.

Over time, influenced by the Well's magic, they underwent changes, distinct from their fellow trolls across the continent.

They grew shorter in stature, their long tusks disappearing. Their feet turned into a pair that looked remarkably like those of humans. Their hair became smooth and glossy, especially the women's waist-length, pristine white hair, a sight to behold.

No longer trolls, they rejected that label and called themselves Night Elves. They refused to acknowledge trolls as their kin.

Here was the birthplace of the Night Elves, the Well of Eternity.

Their culture underwent significant transformations. Unlike the rough and wild voodoo style of trolls, Night Elf architecture was refined and ornate, reminiscent of ancient Greek architecture on Earth. Elves loved to engrave intricate and beautiful patterns on their structures.

The Night Elves established a national authority, led by a queen of stunning beauty, known as the Light of Lights, the Moon of Moons, and the Thousand Months' Radiance, Queen Azshara.

Her grand palace was built beside the Well of Eternity, a lakefront estate with the best views and direct exposure to the well's magical environment.

Around her palace, a magnificent city was rising.

The eternal capital of the Night Elves: Azsharin.

Yet, some Night Elves underwent further mutations, developing unique cultural traditions and adorning themselves with arcane energy runes and tattoos.

They mastered the power of the arcane, becoming incredibly potent due to the endless magic of the Well of Eternity.

They formed a distinct elite aristocracy: the Highborne.

The Highborne primarily served Queen Azshara, acting as her court mages and constituting a formidable elite force.

Not far from the Well of Eternity and the capital of Azsharin, the Highborne established a smaller city: Suramar.

Suramar was exclusively open to the Highborne. Residents were powerful mages, sheltered from the influence of the Night Elf commoners, focusing on studying magic and leading luxurious lives.

The Sunstrider family ruled the entire Highborne community, with their leader, Dath'Remar Sunstrider, serving as Azshara's Chief Court Mage for an extended period, amassing tremendous power.

Because they needed to serve Queen Azshara in the capital of Azsharin, the Sunstriders left the governance of the everyday affairs in Suramar to the Sunstrider Council.

In the largest library of Suramar, there was an ordinary Highborne mage apprentice named Allisande. She was currently serving as a humble librarian while passionately exploring the vast repository.

Her name was Allisande.
