"Butterfly, I am a mafia king."

I blinked at his words. Did I just hear 'mafia king'? I think I heard it wrong. Something must be wrong with my hearing. It has to be.

"Sorry. I think I heard you wrong. Can you please repeat it?" I said as I clutched my dress.

My heart was thumping uncontrollably as I waited for his response. He looked at me defeatedly and exhaled a shaky breath before saying,

"I know it's hard to accept it, but it is true. I'm a mafia king. My dad built an underworld empire, the Moretti Organization, and after he got sick, I took over it."

I stared at him for a few beats to see if he was messing with me, but his eyes were saying every word of his was true. My heart stopped.

He is not lying. He-he is the mafia king. The DEVIL.

I looked at my lap. My mind was blank. I heard rumors that he was in the mafia, but I thought it was all just some mere rumors. But it wasn't. Everything was true.
