Maxwell Cameron knelt on one leg, grasping her hand and kissing the back of it, "From the day you were born, I've been waiting for this day... My existence is to become your husband."
Anna Jadwin seemed dazed, as if she saw the young Maxwell Cameron proposing with a flower crown and ring made of vines, under the brilliant sunlight.
He pulled her wildly across the hill, entering the deserted chapel.
The sunlight passed through the glass, illuminating the benches one by one.
She always thought she would marry him, as all the adults said they were destined to be married. She truly believed it in her heart.
But when Maxwell Cameron came from the memories and genuinely knelt down to propose, Anna Jadwin panicked.
"It's too fast, I... am not mentally prepared yet!" Anna Jadwin tried to pull her hand back.
Maxwell Cameron stubbornly held her, his handsome eyebrows furrowed, "I've spent more than 20 years preparing - and you're telling me it's too fast?"
