章 22: Dinner Date With Sandra
After Chuck, Sandra, Mr. Miller and the bodyguards left and went straight towards the parking lots which was located in basement three, it was few hours to 6pm so Chuck had to go back to check on his son, he sent the name of the hotel where they will have dinner to Sandra, before she left.
Chuck and his grandfather got in their car and left as soon as Sandra had left. Is that the woman you were married to? asked grandpa, yes that's the woman, Chuck responded she looks so stubborn how did you even managed to live with her for those years? the old man couldn't help but ask Chuck.
Well it wasn't like we lived together, after her grandfather died i was kicked out of her room and I was living in a small room which use to be a store. Chuck said to his old man, a store, how wicked are those people? he couldn't believe that someone can live in a store unfortunately that person that lived in a store was non other than his grandson.
I am so sorry my child I wasn't there when you needed me, how I wish i could have found out earlier about you, and I could have saved you from those wicked people, said grandpa. It's ok grandpa it's all over now and am glad that you found me on time and rescued me, am truly grateful.
It didn't took them long to get home and once they got out of the car, They found Nick playing with his toys the boy was so carried away that he didn't even notice their arrival. Chuck went to him, lifted him up then he asked Nanny Margaret if the boy had eaten, Nanny Margaret was like a grandmother to Nick so she was really taking good care of the boy.
Chuck thanked Margaret then left the boy to continue playing, and together with his grandfather, they went to the dining room and they were served with coffee, grandpa was later served with his meal but Chuck excused himself from the dinning table once he finished his coffee and went to his room to prepare, he didn't want to have food because he was to have dinner with Sandra.
After he was ready, he left the room and went downstairs to tell his grandfather that he was ready to leave. Upon reaching to the dining table, the old man had already finished his meal and had already retrieved to his room, Chuck went back upstairs and knocked on his grandfather's door then went in.
Grandpa, am leaving now but hopefully I won't be gone for long, have a lovely evening I will see you later. Alright my child do you need a driver asked grandpa, no I will drive myself i don't want to keep the man waiting in the car, what about the bodyguards you can take two of them I don't think you are safe out there alone. Ok thanks he said to his grandfather then he left the room.
Chuck didn't want to bother the bodyguards too much since he knew that they were also tied, he requested one of the bodyguards that had not accompanied them to work to go with him, they got to the parking garage and immediately they took off in a range rover, it was so comfortable to ride a ringer rover Chuck couldn't help but murmur at the back of his mind. It didn't take them long to get to their destination, and once they arrived, Chuck retrieved his phone from the pocket and dialed Sandra's phone number before living the parking lots.
The phone was soon connected and Sandra told Chuck that she was almost at the hotel premises. In not more than 10 minutes, Sandra arrived and followed by the bodyguard, they went direct in the hotel where they were received by the waitress. Welcome sir and madam, have you booked a reservation with us? she asked, Yes kindly check under the name Chuck Wallen, Chuck said, she went through her list of the bookings and upon seeing Chuck's name, she asked them to follow her to a table that was reserved for them.
Chuck had booked a different table for the bodyguard and the bodyguard was also directed to his table, he had already told the bodyguard about his plan of why he had to set a different table for the bodyguard, he wanted the bodyguard to be on a different table to see if there is anyone who could try to make trouble for him thinking that he is alone and incase of such a case, they might get to know who was behind his kidnapping.
At the table where Chuck and Sandra were sitting, they kept on complementing each other, Chatting and also making fun of each other. Food was later served and there was a moment of silent when they were having their dinner. Upon finishing their meal, the waitress poured red wine into two glasses, handed one to Sandra and the other one to Chuck then she left.
When they were done, Chuck took the initiative to ask Sandra about her love life, Sandra, am sorry to ask, forgive my manner, but, are you single or seeing someone? Chuck asked. Upon hearing the question, Sandra almost froze, she didn't expect Chuck to ask her about her love life, but since he has asked, let me just share my story Sandra murmured at the back of her mind,
Well it's like this, she started, I once had a boyfriend whom I loved so much thinking that he loved me as i did, not knowing that he was just pretending and wanted to just use me, life was really going on well even though the guy didn't love me as much as I thought, he really knew how to pretend but all he was after was my money. One day, he called me and told me that he was going on a business trip for a period of one week away from home, as I wasn't working that entire week, i asked if i can join him but the latter refused. I didn't knew the reason but also I didn't want bother him with questions.
Two days after he left, he called me and told me that his bank card wasn't working and that he had tried to contact the bank only to be told that his card had expired and he needed to visit his branch to apply for a new one. I sent him the money then few minutes later I tried calling him but I couldn't reach him. Later on, I received a phone call from one of my friends who is a manager in a certain hotel, once the call was connected, I was shocked to here what my friend told me. She told me that my boyfriend is on their hotel with a young lady, I couldn't believe what i was hearing.
The location of where my ex boyfriend had told me he was going was very different from where my friend was working, I later decided to see it by myself so I got in my car and drove away to the direction of the hotel.
Upon reaching the hotel, I called my friend who advised me to wait somewhere in a corner and wait for them to come downstairs for dinner and I did exactly that. It didn't took them long to come downstairs for, my friend had reserved them a table which was next where I was sitting.
