章 29: Spider Tyrant

"Hang on, look at me! I'm a mess, sloppier than a homeless man. If I step out now, everyone will steer clear, not because of my power, but because of the stench," Christopher exclaimed angrily, feeling nauseous from the odors surrounding him.

"How about I get you a gas mask?" Spider-Man suggested weakly, sympathizing with Christopher's predicament. He understood that accompanying him into the sewers was taking its toll on his friend, but with Mary's life at stake, they had little choice.

"Let's get out of here. I have a plan to draw out Dr Lizard," Christopher declared impatiently.

"What can I do?" Spider-Man inquired.

"Let's discuss it once we're out," Christopher replied, his tone curt.

"Okay," Spider-Man agreed reluctantly.

Emerging from the sewer with two people and four dogs, their putrid odor repelled passersby, prompting them to flee in disgust.

Christopher led Spider-Man to a high-end hotel, intent on cleansing themselves of the foul smell. However, they were promptly intercepted by the doorman and security guard.

"Get lost, you filthy beggar!" the security guard barked.

"If you're hungry, find somewhere else. You're not welcome here," the doorman sneered.

Spider-Man's face flushed with embarrassment and frustration.

Without hesitation, Christopher released the leash of the military dogs and commanded them, "Attack."

The obedient dogs turned ferocious upon hearing their master's order, lunging at the doorman and security guard.

"S-stop! Help! Get this dog off me!" the men cried out in panic.

Military dogs were trained to bite strategically, targeting vital areas if provoked, and these dogs wasted no time in asserting their dominance.

Seeing the chaos unfold, Spider-Man struggled to control the other two dogs, urging Christopher to relent. "Christopher, let's leave it. We're in a mess, bound to be misunderstood."

"Come back," Christopher commanded firmly.

The dogs obeyed instantly, returning to him and sitting obediently by his side.

Advancing towards the whimpering men on the ground, Christopher asserted his authority, "Are you going to stop me now?"

The doorman and security guard quickly relented, waving them inside with trembling hands.

As they entered the hotel, the staff scattered in fear, wary of Christopher's dogs and their potential for aggression.

The waiter had the option to escape, but the front desk girl was bound by her duty, making fleeing an abandonment of her responsibilities.

Holding her breath, the front desk girl cautiously addressed Christopher and the others, "Sir, I'm truly sorry, but pets are not allowed in our hotel."

"For one million US dollars, can I book your entire hotel for a day," Christopher boldly asked.

"Ah!" The front desk girl gasped, her mouth agape. Subconsciously inhaling, she suddenly bent down and vomited, overwhelmed by the repugnant smell. The unpleasant odor proved too much, and she continued vomiting until her stomach was empty.

Weak and pale after the ordeal, the front desk girl forced a smile and asked Christopher, "Sir, do you really want to spend one million US dollars to book a stay in our hotel for a day?"

Christopher impatiently nodded, "Yes, hurry up. I stink very much. I need to wash it off quickly."

The front desk girl assured him, "Sir, don't worry. I'll notify the manager right away." She politely explained that such a significant decision required the approval of the manager.

In society money often dictated one's authority, regardless of status.

Upon hearing the front desk's request for a one-million-dollar booking, the manager eagerly approached Christopher, addressing him with enthusiasm. "Sir, this is the bank account number of our hotel. You can transfer the money here."

"Optimus, transfer one million US dollars," Christopher ordered.

"As you wish, my Liege," Optimus obediently accepted the command.

Ding—

The hotel's computer beeped, signaling the successful transaction.

Observing the bank details, the manager struggled to contain his amusement and invited Christopher, "Sir, please come in. Our hotel's presidential suite will guarantee your satisfaction."

"Send these four military dogs of mine back to the police station," Christopher instructed, tossing the dog leash to the manager.

The manager, unfazed, accepted the leash. Spider-Man also handed his leash to the manager, who, in turn, passed them to the waiter for the military dogs' return to the police station.

Enthusiasm toward Christopher intensified as the manager recognized the potential connection with the police department, realizing the importance of ingratiating himself.

Guided by the manager, Christopher entered the presidential suite. His first order of business upon arrival was to take a refreshing shower.

After an hour of cleansing in the bathroom, Christopher emerged ready.

As Christopher emerged from the bathroom, he was greeted by the unpleasant scent wafting through the room. Spider-Man, not as meticulous in his cleanliness, had washed up casually and settled into Christopher's room, eager to hear his plan.

"Christopher, what's the method you mentioned earlier?" Spider-Man inquired eagerly as Christopher dried his hair with a towel.

"It's quite simple," Christopher explained, "We just need to lure the lizard to us. If we deliberately reveal our location to Harry, Dr Lizard will come looking for us."

"But how do we let him know?" Spider-Man questioned, a hint of concern in his voice.

"If you make Harry aware of your whereabouts, Dr Lizard will surely follow," Christopher reassured him.

"Alright, I'll head out in my spider suit and make my way to the Osborn Group," Spider-Man decided.

"Go ahead, I'll be backing you up," Christopher affirmed, offering his support.

Once Spider-Man departed, Christopher enlisted the hotel manager's help in acquiring various specialized fabrics—some stiff, some elastic, and some soft. His plan was to craft a spider suit akin to Spider-Man's, providing him with a disguise to evade recognition by Harry.

While Christopher harbored no fear of Harry, he wasn't eager to create an unwanted enemy when they could be friends instead.

Using an electric sewing machine and assistance from Optimus, Christopher meticulously fashioned a tailored spider suit. Unlike Spider-Man's vibrant attire, Christopher's suit was sleek and entirely black—a deliberate choice to blend seamlessly into the shadows.

Functionality trumped aesthetics in Christopher's design philosophy, focusing on practicality above all else. He instructed Optimus to activate the 3D holographic projector, allowing him to monitor Spider-Man's situation closely.

To his surprise, Christopher observed Harry donning the Green Goblin armor, pursuing Spider-Man fervently.

"Why would Harry take matters into his own hands? Has Spider-Man succeed in angering him to such an extent?" Christopher pondered, withholding his intervention as he awaited the arrival of Dr Lizard.
