That was just an idea inside her head. She meant to keep them unspoken. She did not know what came over her as she blurted out that question. 

Now, she felt even more awkward as she stood beside her stepsister while her eyes stared back at her. She could see that Jules was stunned by the question.

"Don't answer that. I don't know what I am thinking." Kaely immediately retracted her question, hoping her sister would not feel offended.

Of course, she had many questions in her mind. She believed she had been grasping at straws about what happened to her stepsister after years they had lost communication.

"That is ok." Finally, her stepsister spoke after a few seconds of silence. "After all, we are born naturally curious, inquisitive, and intuitive."
