Xavier closed his status screen and hurried towards Cerulean City as it was already dark. He avoided wild pokemons on the way but always used Inspect to check the surrounding, and luckily he found TM: Whirlwind.
After half an hour, he finally reached Cerulean City. He directly went towards the Pokemon Center and left his Pokemon to Nurse Joy for healing. Then, he rented a room for himself to stay for the night.
The next day, Xavier decided to have a chat with NPCs in the city to see if they can give him any free items. Meanwhile, he also visited the bike shop, and as expected, they offered a bike at 1 million pokecoins.
He also went to the mart to buy potions. After doing all of this, he formulated a plan for the last 4 remaining days:
1. Catch a new pokemon
2. Defeat all NPCs north of Cerulean City
3. If he has time, defeat Cerulean Gym.
Wasting no time, he went straight to the north of the town, but just as he was going to go on the bridge, he was stopped by Blue, who challenged him for a battle.
Xavier did not answer immediately; instead, he used Inspect on Blue to check out his pokemons. He found that Blue had a Pidgey (lv 17), Charmeleon (lv 17), and Abra (lv 14).
He decided to take a risk and battle him.
The battle began with Blue's Pidgey taking to the skies, flapping its wings rapidly as it unleashed a Gust attack towards Nidorino. The gust of wind struck Nidorino, causing some damage, but the tough Poison-type Pokemon stood firm. Nidorino retaliated with a Leer, locking eyes with Pidgey to lower its defense.
Not wanting to be an easy target, Pidgey swiftly darted down towards Nidorino, using Quick Attack to land a surprise blow. The agile Nidorino managed to evade some of the attack, but it still took a hit. Refusing to back down, Nidorino countered with a Peck, aiming precisely at Pidgey's wings to disrupt its flying.
Pidgey flapped its wings frantically, trying to maintain its balance in the air. It then responded with a Sand Attack, kicking up a cloud of sand to obscure Nidorino's vision. Despite the disadvantage, Nidorino relied on its instincts and utilized Fury Attack, slashing rapidly at the air, hoping to hit Pidgey.
The sand dispersed, and both Pokemon faced each other, panting and determined. Pidgey's wings were slightly wounded from Nidorino's Peck, but it still had the energy to fight. Blue called out for another Gust, hoping to finish Nidorino, but the Poison-type Pokemon was ready this time. Nidorino countered with Poison Tail, its tail glowing with a venomous aura.
The Poison Tail slammed into Pidgey's wings, causing it to cry out in pain. This move took a heavy toll on the Flying-type Pokemon whose wings were already wounded. With one final push, Nidorino used another Fury Attack, hitting Pidgey multiple times, knocking it back and making it stumble.
In a final act of defiance, Pidgey tried to use Whirlwind to blow Nidorino away, but Nidorino stood its ground, refusing to be blown away. With a fierce determination in its eyes, Nidorino lunged forward, delivering a powerful Poison Tail straight into Pidgey, knocking it to the ground.
Blue recalled his fainted Pidgey and sent out charmeleon . With Nidorino panting profusely after the tough battle, Xavier decided to call him back and sent out Mankey to take over the fight.
Mankey started the fight with a powerful Tackle, ramming into Charmeleon with all his might. Charmeleon managed to withstand the attack and retaliated with a Scratch, leaving scratches on Mankey's body.
Undeterred, Mankey used Fury Swipes, delivering a series of rapid slashes. Some of the strikes landed on Charmeleon, causing it to growl in frustration. Mankey followed up with a Low Kick, aiming for Charmeleon's legs and causing it to stumble.
Charmeleon fought back by using Ember, breathing flames towards Mankey. However, Mankey displayed his agility, dodging most of the fiery attack.
Mankey then unleashed a powerful Night Slash, landing a critical hit on Charmeleon. Charmeleon roared in pain, feeling the full force of the attack.
For one last move, Mankey charged with another Tackle. Charmeleon tried to counter with Dragon Breath, but Mankey managed to evade most of it and landed a solid hit on Charmeleon, knocking it down.
Upon seeing Blue send out Abra, Xavier made a quick decision to keep Mankey in the battle. He felt relieved that Abra didn't know any psychic attacks except Teleport, as both of his Pokémon would have been vulnerable to such moves due to their types.
The battle between Mankey and Abra was an interesting one, with Abra's teleportation abilities making it a tricky opponent. At first, Mankey had trouble landing a hit as Abra continuously disappeared and reappeared on the battlefield.
Mankey tried using Tackle, Fury Swipes, and Low Kick, but Abra's quick teleportation made it difficult to predict its movements. The battle seemed to be dragging on, and both trainers and their Pokémon were growing exhausted.
However, Abra's constant teleportation was also taking a toll on its energy. It began to show signs of fatigue, and its teleports became slower and less frequent.
Seizing the opportunity, Mankey unleashed a powerful Night Slash, landing a direct hit on Abra. The attack was super effective, and Abra was knocked out instantly.
Creation is hard, cheer me up!
