章 24: Chapter 24 - Preliminary Plans
"So, you modified the gun?" Felix asked Da Vinci as he looked at his gun.
"Yes. It has a short sword form since you are able to use a sword. A blade will appear from the top of the barrel when you command it. I think it's a pretty useful thing." Da Vinci said to him with a smile on her face.
"And how do I do that?" Felix asked her as he looked at her.
Da Vinci was happy to show him how to do it as he nodded to her words and memorized it, then he used it as he looked at his weapon. He sent his energy into the gun and a blade appeared on top of the barrel. The weight is still the same so he doesn't have any problems with it as he is familiar with it's weight.
He swung the weapon, now a gunblade as he took a few practice swings to become accustomed to it as he smiled at its weight. It was light so he can use it every quickly and he can use the bullets and he smiled as the edges of the blade glowed with he magical energy.
"This will surely give you an edge. You can also reinforce it further and since I have also strengthened it further, it can take much more punishment than before. However, don't go around attacking with it just because of that." Da Vinci said to him with a smile on her face.
"Alright. So, any news about the next singularity?" Felix asked as he wanted to be prepared for it.
"Well, we are getting close. From my estimation, we should be able to get the coordinates either by today night or tomorrow morning." Da Vinci said to him as she remembered the information.
"I see. So we have a few more hours or so." Felix muttered to himself as he heard that.
"Well, not to worry. You have got your Servants here after all. And many of them are very strong as well. I'm sure you'll be fine, Mash is also there to protect the two of you after all." Da Vinci said to him with a smile on her face.
"Yeah, that means we also have to think about the Servants we want to take with us since we can't bring everyone." Felix said as he looked at her.
"Yeah, that too. Why don't you go talk about this with the director? She should be currently in her office doing some work." Da Vinci said to him with a smile.
"Right. Thanks for the upgrade Da Vinci." Felix said as the blade vanished before he left her workshop.
Da Vinci smiled fondly at hearing his words. Then she turned to her research table and looked at the notes which detailed the information and calculations she had made during the Fuyuki Singularity as she frowned.
'Artoria Alter didn't say anything about what she had said at the singularity, simply telling us that we would know in time. And Lev, the name he said at the singularity as well.' Da Vinci thought to herself as she closed her eyes and thought about the information.
She simply didn't have the necessary information to come to a conclusion which grated at her nerves. But she knew that she had to be patient and divert her attention to helping the Masters to ensure the continuation of humanity. After all, she had also made several contributions to it and wouldn't like it if they were all exterminated because of some king.
"I just hope that I will be able to help them more." Da Vinci said out loud as she looked at the information.
Meanwhile Felix had already reached Olga's office and he entered it. He saw her looking over some files when she heard him come in, she smiled a bit when she saw him but she schooled her expression and looked at him.
"Felix. Why did you come to my office?" Olga asked him curiously.
"Well, I was at Da Vinci's, and she told me that they might get the coordinates for the next singularity by either today during night time or tomorrow morning." Felix said to her as he looked at her.
"Hmm, is that so? I guess they didn't include that in the reports, or maybe it's a recent development? Whatever the case, this means that we only have a few hours to create a plan, right?" Olga asked as she looked at him seriously.
"I'm afraid so. We need to think of which Servants to bring with us after all." Felix said to her as he sat on the chair.
"Well, I had summoned Archer, Cu and Mata Hari. I am thinking about bringing Archer since he is an Archer and he would be good for reconnaissance." Olga said as she thought about it.
"Yeah, I agree with that too. We also need a good forward as well. Artoria Alter, Medusa and Medusa Alter are good close combat Servants." Felix said to her as he thought about it.
"We should probably discuss this with the three of them. I think it will he much safer." Olga said to him as she remembered the two Alter Servants.
'I don't want them to get mad. One is an alternate King Arthur, the other is a monster from Greek mythology or goddess.' Olga thought to herself as she gulped.
"As for Iskander, well, he is quite loud and will draw attention, which is something we don't want as we want to gather information, not announce our arrival." Felix said to her as he remembered the boisterous man.
"We can bring Medea with us. Her Magecraft will be huge help for us, and if the singularity is an AD era one, then there won't be many mages who can contend against her." Olga said to him as she thought about it.
Felix grinned when he heard that as he also understood the logic behind her words. Magecraft from the Age of Gods are of a different level than that of the modern age, as it was closer to true magic. Having someone who is proficient in magecraft of that level with you will be quite beneficial for them.
"So, Mash, Emiya, Medea, either Artoria Alter, Medusa or Medusa Alter." Olga said as she looked at him.
"While I'm sure Cu would want to come with us. I think we should save him for a huge assault. Roman did say that we will be able to call our Servants in the singularity after we have established a stable summoning circle. He would be an element of surprise and is a pretty powerful warrior as well." Felix said as he looked at her.
"Yeah, and he's very fast and his Noble Phantasm will deal massive damage as well. Not to mention it's almost a mix of a magical and conceptual attack. He is a good choice for a hidden card." Olga said with a nod as she understood his thoughts.
"Looks like we have a plan." Felix said to her as she nodded to him.
"Of course, if we want someone to sneak on and gather Intel, then we can call Mata Hari. She should be able to help." Olga said as she remembered her Servant.
She still wore the earrings that were recommended to her by her Servant and she remembered the compliment that she had gotten from Felix as she smiled slightly.
"Yeah, an assassin would also help. But we have to do it after making sure that we have a good vantage point. No reason to bring her and cause her to die, we both know that Mata Hari isn't that much of a fighter." Felix said to her as he remembered the Servant.
"Yeah, you're right." Olga said as she sighed and rubbed her forehead.
Felix watched her as she has a troubled expression while looking at the papers on her desk.
"Is there something else in your mind?" Felix asked her as he looked at her.
"The Mages Association." Olga simply said to him as she looked at him.
"Umm..." Felix just let out a noise as he looked at her.
"Chaldea didn't have their permission to summon anymore Servants. Even the first Rayshift was only to see if our technology worked and it was to gather evidence and data. But we have contracted more Servants than the one we have been allowed to have." Olga said as she looked at him.
"Which means that the association won't like it when they learn about us summoning multiple Servants." Felix said as he looked at her.
"Yes. As much as I loathe to admit it, if we manage to complete this Grand Order, then the Mages Association will be up with arms about this breach of contract. They would most likely want us to send the Servants back." Olga said as she grit her teeth as she thought about the association.
She knew how ruthless the association is, she is a member of the Animusphere family after all, and she had been forced to take her father's position after his death. She has been exposed to more of the association's malice due to that. And she also knew that if she didn't have a strong front, then they will tear into her and take everything she has left.
"And... They might arrest you because you had made contracts with several Servants. I will be protected due to my title as an Animusphere, but you..." Olga said as she looked at him and then at the table, not being able to meet his gaze.
"They might kill me to make sure that I won't become a threat." Felix said to her as he thought about it.
"Yes. I... I don't know her because to feel about that." Olga said as she sighed to herself.
On one hand, she wants to save him. He is the only one who has given her the praise and appreciation she had wanted in life. And he also makes her feel safe, and she wants to protect him in return as well.
But this was also the Mages Association they were talking about. If work got out about him, then they might do everything they can to ensure that he won't become a hindrance to their power. She is sure that they will send a lot of their mages after him as well.
There is also the matter of the Atlas Institute, every mage worth their money knows that a Servant is extremely powerful. And many Servants in history are more on the morally good side. And Atlas institute don't have any morals, instead they are only concerned with getting more knowledge about the Laws of the World.
If they felt threatened by the existence of morally good Servants coming after them due to their experiments. They might lend their air to the Clock Tower to eradicate him, as she has heard that they have weapons that can destroy the world, locked away. They might have a rule of not letting anything made there to leave, but she doesn't want to risk it as well.
"Olga." Felix called as he looked at her.
"Huh? What?" Olga asked as she was brought out of her thoughts and looked at him in surprise.
"We can make a plan about that after we finish the first singularity, since we have to survive it first before relaxing for this talk." Felix said to her with a smile.
"Well, I guess you're right about that. Just thinking about that is worrying me." Olga said as she held her head.
'I don't want to lose him.' Olga thought to herself as she didn't want him to be taken away by the association.
"Olga. Look, it's fine. I'm sure we can come up with something." Felix said to her as he reached forward and placed his hand on her head.
Olga stilled at the touch but then relaxed as he rubbed her head. She felt her cheeks getting warmer as she felt his hand and felt her worries go away due to it.
"Thanks Felix." Olga said as she looked at him as he removed his hand.
"I'm just happy to help." Felix said with a smile as he schooled her features again.
She then looked at him seriously, as he just smiled at her as she smiled faintly back.
'Yes, he's right. We still have a long way to go before we complete the singularities. We will definitely find a solution for it, I'm gonna make sure of it.' Olga thought to herself as she looked at him with a determined look.
'We can use the Servants to threaten to destroy the Clock Tower after the Grand Order is over. Besides, the only one we have to watch out for are the Director of the Clock Tower and Zelretch, though I think that guy would just sit and watch it happen.' Felix thought to himself as he looked at the director and gave her a smile of his own.
