The story of Moira MacTaggart was a tragedy in itself. Her mutation or the abilities she got from them were not very obvious like the others. She had to die to trigger the ability after all, so she lived her first life without realizing her own identity as a mutant until one day, she died young.
In her subsequent lives, she started to learn as much as she could about genes and became a geneticist. Along the way, she also learned about the mutant leaders and followed Charles Xavier closely. But she only saw tragedy in the future of mutant-kind.
She started off as someone who wanted to create a safe space for mutants, a place where they could maybe coexist with humans. When that failed, she tried the path of ruling over the humans. That failed too.
Moira then tried the route of eradicating humanity which obviously didn't work either. After trying and failing over and over again and seeing the end of mutants, she came to the conclusion that the only way to save the mutants is to 'cure' them from being mutants.
If they are no longer mutants, surely there is no reason for persecution. They can continue to live their life in full and freely, without any fear of being hunted down.
"So, do you still feel like 'curing' the mutants? Or have you gained some hope for the future?" Savant asked while looking out of the large window at the back of Charles Xavier who was walking into a car.
A female figure came out of the shadows, she looked at the back of the young man standing tall in front of the glass window. He was someone who didn't exist in her previous lives, but his existence in this life had changed everything.
Genosha, the mutant nation, which was supposed to be destroyed was still in the process of building. And the person who was supposed to destroy this island nation, Cassandra Nova, had been killed before she could do any significant damage to the mutants.
"Are you someone like me? Or do you see the future?" Moira answered with a question.
"Although it is quite rare, the ability to see the future is still nothing to be surprised over. Even the old man Nostradamus is still alive and kicking, peeking at the future somewhere. Anyway, you didn't answer me." Savant slightly turned his head to look back at Moira.
"I admit that you are a new variable and there have been significant changes in the events due to your influence. But humans can never accept mutants, they will continue to try and eradicate us. I know for a fact that they are currently developing a better sentinel project in secret somewhere.
So, no I don't see any hope in the future. The only way out for mutants is the cure that I made."
Savant didn't say anything for a while and just looked at Moira. Moira on the other hand was vigilant and prepared to flee or attack at any time. "Your idea of a cure isn't entirely bad. For those with physical deformities or unwanted powers, your cure is definitely a good thing.
But shouldn't you ask for their consent before you eradicate a whole species? Do the mutants even want to be 'cured'? From what I learned from Charles, he seems resolved to continue leading the mutants just more flexibly than he did in the past. Are you going to rob them of their fighting chance because you don't like the outcome they might face?"
Moira's eyes became conflicted and confused for a second but they went back to being determined in no time. It was natural, her resolve was forged after living ten lives. It wouldn't be shaken so easily with just a few words.
"I will see how the future changes with you in it. Maybe you are right and I am wrong. But we will only know the outcome in the future. I hope you don't try to stop my plans. This isn't a threat, just an advice." Moira walked away after saying what she had to say.
To those who knew her ability, her threats were very scary. She could die and erase the entire timeline to start over again. By then she would already know everything about you and you would have no idea about her.
But Savant knew her powers and also had some counters to her power as well. The easiest method was to just keep her in a state of suspended animation, never letting her die. Or using her method on herself and stripping away the X-gene from her and then killing her.

On a famous TV news channel in the US, a talk show was being filmed live. Unlike most of its other interviews, this interview was special and was being watched by a record number of viewers. This was because of the recent talk of the town, Savant, was the guest being interviewed today.
"Welcome to our show Mr. Savant Smith. And thank you for making some time for us, you are a difficult man to interview these days." Jerry the interviewer shook Savant's hands.
"It's my pleasure to be here, Jerry. And please call me Savant, I'm almost your grandson's age." Savant chuckled.
"Haha yes, you don't have to remind me of my graying hair. I get to see a lot of jokes about my age on your 'Friends' website. Seriously, how did you come up with something like this? All my free time is spent on this thing and the 'apps' you made for it." Jerry pulled out a smartphone from under the table.
"This smartphone is not something I envisioned or even created first. The ideas, prototypes, and technology were all there around us. I just put them together. I wanted a device that is part of our daily lives while making everyday tasks easier and convenient. And this came about.
It's a phone, camera, computer, calendar, calculator, TV, entertainment system and so much more packaged into a single palm-sized device. You can't get any more convenient." Savant smiled.
"Yes, you have taken over the world by storm with the smartphones and the new websites and apps you launched. Along with your contribution to the 3G network that is being built all over the world, you are being hailed as the king of modern telecommunication. What do you think of the title?"
"It's just the start Jerry. We only have about 30 million users on Friends so far. I'm not modest, I'll gladly take the title of King when that number crosses a billion on all the platforms we have launched.
But for that to happen, the internet and communication infrastructure has to reach every country and every person in the world. I envision a world where everyone on Earth has access to the internet and in turn, access to all the knowledge and information in the world from any place they may reside in."
"I can't tell if you are humble or not at all." Jerry laughed with the audience. "And how long do you think it will take for you to reach that goal?"
"No more than 3 years as long as the governments and bureaucracy of the different countries support us."
"Bureaucracy and government being supportive is a great punchline to a joke." Jerry laughed.
"I know. This is one of the reasons I came on this interview, Jerry. I want to request everyone in the world from right here to make sure that the network infrastructure projects in your country are going smoothly. If not, you can contact our website to put in the complaints.
Savant Tech along with our partner companies is subsidizing this project for underdeveloped nations so there should be no budget issues. But check for transparency in accounting at your local level as well."
"You seem to be very passionate about this project. I have also heard rumors of you forfeiting large profits just to expedite the construction. What drives you to work this hard to connect the world?" Jerry asked in a serious tone.
"We are entering the information age, Jerry. Along with the recent alien attacks, the world needs to be united now more than ever. I just want to democratize information so that the whole world can be connected and have the same access to information.
In the metaphorical race, a kid in New York who has access to all the libraries is already much closer to the finish line than a kid from the hinterlands of Africa who hasn't even seen a book in his life. My goal is to put everyone on the same starting line so that human development can be smoother."
"Your ideas sound very similar to Victor von Doom who has been campaigning for a unified world government. Are you a supporter by any chance?" Jerry asked a question that was somewhat controversial.
The US had also been hinting at creating its own governing body for the world, so there had been some friction between Doom supporters and the US and its allies supporters. There had been rumors that were spreading about Doom being a tyrant, villain, dictator, and much more.
"Yes, I think it is a great idea and am fully supportive of Doctor Doom. No matter what the rumors are saying, he is a great leader as evident from Latveria's prosperity and the love that Latverians have for him.
In fact, I'd like to announce another project that I have been working on with Dr. Doom right here. When internet connectivity reaches every country, we will be launching an Open School initiative where anyone can study almost any course from pre-school to undergraduate level through the internet for free."
Jerry was stunned by the announcement for a second. "That is amazing. You heard it here folks, soon you can say goodbye to student loans and get degrees right from your home."
