章 49: Ch 48: The messengers [pt1]

Sherman wanted to use Mahiru and have her infiltrate the human settlement, but something about her aura caused Sherman to feel danger.

There was nothing special about Mahiru that he could see and she did not seem to have special powers as well. Most of the time, it did not seem as if Mahiru could understand what he was saying.

And yet, his instincts said that he should not underestimate her or he would find himself in deep trouble.

“Anyway, since your family failed to follow through with the plan, we will have no choice but to do it ourselves. You will be coming with us as a hostage as well. So get yourself ready, kid.”

Once more, Mahiru did not answer him but continued to look at him with her calm eyes. Those knowing eyes were the thing that caused Sherman to feel uncomfortable. He quickly made his way out of the room.

Since their leader was gone, the others followed quietly behind. A few did turn around to give Mahiru looks, but no one wanted to interact with her.
