"What are you talking about? Is she sick?" Milda questioned the demon king. 

But to her annoyance, King Mordrak only smirked and said, "Never mind that for now." He moves closer to her and gently rubs her arms before adding, "I need you to get closer to her again and convince her to renounce her husband willingly. It will be easier for me to get what I want once she's no longer mated."

"Why should I do that if it means you will marry her sooner," Milda retorted, glaring and rolling her eyes.

"You are wrong. I will only need to marry her to remove the mark of her mate. But if she renounces him then I could just easily impregnate her and dispose of her once she gives birth to my child. 

Think of it this way, Milda. The sooner I get a child from her then the sooner I could marry you and make you my queen. Don't you want that?" Mordrak softly said while caressing her cheek with the back of his hand.
