KILLIAN’S POV

When Vance went missing after the attack on his car, I went ballistic. I flew to Washington DC with Arran and Maurice. We arrived at the villa and the minute Old Madam Adira saw me walking into the living room she burst out crying.

I rushed over and embraced her as my body shook in fear. The fear of losing Vance.

“He said you had a bad feeling about this,” she mumbled, sniffling.

“I did,” I whispered sadly. “Sit tight and leave everything to me.”

I turned to Maurice and beckoned him to come close. “This is my cousin, Maurice. I will leave him with you so that he can keep you company and be your ears and eyes. Arran and I are off to take care of things.”

“Okay,” she sniffed.

I left the villa as Maurice introduced himself. We walked to the scene and Arran kept cursing over and over.

“Get your sh*t together,” I had snapped at him.

His eyes blazed red and I could tell he had been crying. “They were hit by an electromagnetic sensor and the car tipped.”
