章 45: Secrets in Wuhan X3 City
Since attaining perception, it had been three days, and this day, Cheng Shan was ready to make a move. The improvement in this period can be said to have reached the highest state he could possibly achieve in this forest and perhaps only the snake could provide him with some boost to make him undergo another transformation, but he had already guessed it was the limit.
After this, he had no choice but to go back to the human society, staying in the forest just for this period seemed to have already started to affect his nature. He had some wild tendencies, and the only reason it did not seem to have affected him was the rapid increase in his spirit too during the stay.
He should thus clean up his act and leave this place, but the snake was something he never planned to leave. In that way, he picked up the stick and moved out, as he had nothing of value on him.

Up in the skies, there seemed to be a sound of a bird, even though it was half a meter in length, this was already massive compared to those he was used to seeing.
But from the direction it was heading, it seemed something had attracted its attention, but Cheng Shan overlooked this. He had no plans to meddle in this situation at all, his goal was clear at the moment and he assumed nothing would be attractive enough to him compared to the flesh and blood of the massive snake.
Other resources indeed could not provide him with much help as such he moved swiftly towards the direction of the water, but the ground he was moving on seemed to have not even a single foot print. This was in itself showing that mastery of the strength control was very high. It was more useful even in a fight, as he would end up spending less energy to deliver serious injuries to an opponent.
Just as he continued to move forward, he seemed to hear a massive shake in the direction the bird was heading.

"It seems that things did not end well for that bird, perhaps I can head in that direction to check when I manage to devour the blood and flesh of the snake." He did not even turn back, but could be said to have an enhanced sense of hearing.
Well, it was not just hearing, his other senses seemed to have been heightened, and with every transformation the advancement in that aspect seemed to become stronger. He could hear things from a mile a way, even though it was not very clear, this could already show how scary this transformations are.
With this kind of situation, perhaps he had already jumped out of the class of humans, it can be said he has taken that step in evolution. But that feeling of incompleteness seemed to be driving him into attempting the tenth transformation and he seemed to be willing to try it.
The water snake was unlucky because he was more interested in it as a resource rather than coming back to settle scores, as for caring about extinction of the snake species, he did not care. To begin with, he had a feeling that the snake was not able to reach such a state by purely existing. It must have consumed something or met some kind of chance, otherwise he would have seen other massive creatures in the forest.
In the sea for instance, he has only seen massive whales and Sharks close to 30 meters, but not other creatures. In this way, it is very difficult as such he did not deem the current situation of the water snake as natural.
The sharks, have always been able to grow in large sizes and their environment has massive resources to support them. The snake on the other hand, seems to have some doubts coming up when he thinks about it clearly. But it is also possible this is all due to his blind spot in this knowledge.
Since that is the case, he did not seem to be interested in finding out more about it, he was just going to turn it into a resource and perhaps in the future if others also where to be found, he would not mind hunting them down.
Soon he seemed to be able to see the waters, and the surface covered by massive green leaves reminded him of the first time he saw the snake.
His sense of crisis had already been warning him to not approach the water, and he took some time to make some improvement before indeed attempting to move over the water.
It was also in this moment that his agility seemed to have some to test as he was being chased by a water snake. But even with such a situation it proved that he had indeed done a decent job in practicing the movement skill.

In the Wuhan X3 City.
Top of the highest building, seven men and two women dressed in black official clothes seemed to be solemnly looking east. They seemed to be waiting for something and in no time, a massive sound could be heard from the sky.
It was not the thunder, rather the sound of a helicopter, and it approached fast. It become clear when it got closer and hovered in the air for some while before landing on the platform. The nine people that where waiting seemed to become very respectful and one could even sense some nervousness from them.
It was obvious that they had some fear of the person that had just arrived in the helicopter. When finally the person came down, they seemed to bow respectfully towards his direction. It was a middle-aged looking man with some white hairs on the side. It was obvious that the man was approaching that age but he had taken good care of the body.
"Okay stop bowing here! I only came down here this time for one thing, and hope that the information you give me will be worthwhile." The man had an authoritative voice.
Seeing that no one was responding he seemed to become impatient, "Why aren't any of you saying anything! Do you really think that the funding all this time is wasted to research that is not productive?"
The group seemed to be already terrified but they did not seem to show it on the surface. One of the women seemed to step forward and speak up, "Sir! We have made some progress and believe that you will be satisfied after seeing it, its just that some materials required for further verification are illegal to obtain."
The moment the woman opened his mouth the man seemed to be staring at her, and when she mentioned the issue of illegal to obtain he just had some kind of disdain on his face.
"Well, let's go and see that progress you are talking about and if it satisfies this old man, then the requirements you have will be met, as for the issue of materials, that will depend on the sincerity you show me." As he spoke he took the stairs from above the platform arriving at where the nine where standing, and they all seemed to retreat to create space.
The man seemed to be smiling, perhaps because he was told there was some progress with the thing that had brought him to the city.
After moving to the right, a downward staircase could be seen and the woman took the lead guiding, but the others kept silent in the entire time.
The moment they walked close to ten stairs, they arrived in a place with massive metal encasing, in the middle seemed to be a door that required security authentication to even enter. The woman used her credentials to open the door and after stepping in, one could see high end hazmat suits packed each seemed to be encased in some kind of glass with frost clearly visible from the outside.
"Sir! Please choose one of the suits, then we shall guide you to the observation unit. You can be able to make judgement of the current progress from there." The woman showed a welcoming gesture with her hands. When the man went ahead to put on the suit, the others that had also entered the room all put it on.
It seemed like this place was some kind of laboratory. Based on the number of suits present in the room alone, it was obvious that the number of people that visit this place was not small.
Without much hustle, they moved to the very end of the wall, and an elevator section seemed to be present, unlike in other sections of the building, this elevator did not seem to be facing the outside at all. It was very well hidden in the building, unlike those glass elevators at the side, that one could see from standing on the outside.
It started to descend and in no time, the value shown on the elevator seemed to be running backwards fast, until it went below zero. It was obvious that the elevator had moved from the highest floor all the way going to the underground floors.
