章 65: Resting in the Undergound
People quickly got out of the trucks and made their way to Carl and the others. They simply nodded at them before looking at the many monsters that were present.
"We shall transport the lower-ranked monsters with the help of the trucks, the larger C-grades, as well as all the 4 more powerful monsters, will be taken now." The person that arrived said as Lucius and Markus merely nodded at him.
The man made his way to the corpses, and merely by touching them, the corpses disappeared.
'What the hell, how did he do that, is that his ability?' Carl asked himself as he stared at the man who was taking the large corpses, making them disappear simply by touching them.
[ No, it is not an ability, and he doesn't need to touch the corpses to take them, he's doing it in order to make others believe it is an ability of sorts. ]
'So what is he doing, and how is he doing it?'
[ Remember the spatial inventory I told you about? ]
'You mean the one I was never able to even check since you would simply take everything out and place it on my table, and even now, after you stopped doing that, I can't check it, that inventory?'
[ Ummm … yes, that inventory. ]
[ You can check it now, but only the items you gain from missions can be there. ]
Carl blinked several times and sighed in annoyance before doing what the system said, and truly, just by thinking about it, he was able to see a screen in front of him, one that reminded him a lot of an inventory screen from video games.
He was able to see the two Strength Pills he still hadn't consumed, as well as the two manuals he had, but other than that, he was able to see one more thing.
It looked like a ticket, and merely by thinking about it, the description for it appeared in front of him.

Carl blinked a couple of times in quick succession before he stared up at the sky.
'I actually forgot that I had this.'
'How the hell did I forget, the item might have been very helpful during the battle.'
[ Well, you did have a brief introduction to the wind of desolation, so I can imagine you weren't thinking straight at that time. ]
'But you were.' Carl suddenly said as his eyes narrowed down.
'You were thinking straight, you knew about it, and you said nothing, useless system.'
'Worst system ever.'
'I want a new one, I don't like this one.'
'Why did I have to get the most worthless and dumbest system ever?!'
The system said nothing as it did understand that it was its fault. It actually forgot to tell Carl.
Carl sighed before looking around.
Three large buses had appeared in front of the Agency, and the employees were getting in, all of them were wearing masks, however.
Lucius arrived next to Carl and gave him a mask as he was wearing one as well.
"The agency had scrambled all electronics in the area and made it impossible for anybody to see our faces with the help of a powerful villain, but now, we can be seen and our identities can be found, so wear this." Carl nodded at Lucius and put the mask on before getting on the bus with Isabella and the others.
Everything that was inside the agency was taken out by the men who were employed by the agency. Carl was impressed by how quickly they had managed to do everything.
They were in and out and managed to pretty much take everything from the building in about half an hour. Of course, Carl and the others weren't there the entire time as the buses started moving about 5 minutes after they had arrived.
They went through the city, which was relatively easy since there was no traffic at all. Everybody was inside their houses and apartments, hoping the monsters wouldn't be able to get through the walls and attack them.
They arrived at their destination about 10 minutes later, which was below ground. They had actually gone inside a tunnel before suddenly passing through a wall that had opened up for them.
The buses stopped in a large underground area and they all got out, only to see that all their vehicles were present as well.
"So, until the end of the outbreak, you will all be staying here." A person that suddenly arrived said.
He wore a black coat and was wearing glasses even though they were underground and it was dark.
"This is for your own safety, if we let all of you go out now, then the HA might notice that something is weird, after all, barely anybody is crazy enough to be driving around when an outbreak is currently taking place."
"So make yourselves comfortable, you have a large screen that is showing you what is going on with the outbreak here, as well as food and drinks, the sofas and beds are quite nice as well."
"Take this as a rest day, alright?" The man asked before going to Lucius and Markus who motioned for Isabella and Carl to come as well.
"So this is the handler that managed to defeat a B-grade monster, what you did today was quite impressive." The man told Carl who scratched the back of his head.
"The fact that you have two B-grade villains contracted with you and possess the strength of a B-grade will definitely be enough for the agency to promote you and give you the status of a B-grade villain as well, so you will easily get your own large office in the new building." The man said before looking at Isabella.
"I was wondering what the person that managed to make all the scientists of the main lab go crazy looked like, I have to admit, I was expecting someone that looked very different." The man said as he slightly bowed to Isabella.
Even though his position in the agency was not low and he outranked both Markus and Lucius, Isabella was a person who belonged to the main lab and was in the department that was led by a crazy scientist, as well as the head of the lab, both of which were higher ranked than him.
Even though Isabella was only a B-grade right now, nobody would dare mess with her. Not only was she a member of the department that researched flux, but the man had also been given an order from the higher-ups to act politely to her, otherwise he could easily get demoted.
He didn't know why that was so, but he figured it was probably the higher-ups that belonged to the lab that were looking after Isabella.
They all talked a bit longer, during which they were told that the agency was very happy with how they managed to defeat the monsters and that they would all be rewarded for it, as well as the fact that they would be able to choose which monsters they wished to sell and what parts they wished to keep as their own tomorrow.
They all stayed inside the underground area for about an hour longer, during which they were all looking at the big screen and the battle that was currently taking place.
The monsters were defeated.
There was not even one moment when the monsters were able to endanger the walls thanks to the fact the heroes and villains were more powerful than the monsters.
Nightshade was the one that did the most, he killed multiple S-grade monsters that appeared, making it much easier for the others to defeat the rest of the monster horde.
The battle was nearly finished when they were allowed to leave. They couldn't all leave at once, but in batches of 13 people, and Carl and Isabell were a part of the first batch that left the underground area.
They both left in Carl's car, and during their ride back, neither talked much.
Carl was still a bit weak from the battle as even though his injuries were mostly healed, he had put a lot of strain on his body during the battle, his flux levels had dropped at the end and it would take him some time to heal.
Isabella had also been a bit injured and used up most of her flux, but thanks to her powers, the ape had been unable to burn her with its flames, so she was in a much better state.
'Still no rewards?'
[ The monsters are still not completely taken care of, just wait for a couple of more minutes, alright? ]
'But why, it's not like I will get anything else, no villain of mine is currently fighting, it's a waste of time not to give me the rewards now.'
[ That's protocol, just be patient, your rewards won't fly away. ]
Carl sighed as he parked his car and got in his apartment, only for the system to notify him that the mission was completed.
