Chapter 8: Door of Doors
"My sister?" Shirou seemed bewildered.
Illya made a pot. "Oh, I wanted to tell him."
The boy looked at her while trying to look for any resemblance that the girl could have with Kiritsugu.
"Don't bother, Shirou." Julius stopped him. "She is a homunculus of the Einzbern, you will not find any resemblance to your adoptive father, although that does not change the fact that she is his daughter."
Berserker growled behind Illya.
Artoria took a step forward and held her invisible Excalibur.
"Back off, master." She asked him.
"Wai..." Shirou tried to stop her, but Saber launched herself, with a Mana Burst, at Heracles.
Illya chuckled softly.
"So, are we done talking yet?" Then, with the same innocent expression she ordered her Servant. "Finish them, Berserker."
Both legendary heroes collided with their weapons, creating a shock wave that knocked Shirou off his feet.
In an instant, various rumbles rang out as sparks flew all over the place.
'I want to try something, buy me some time, Saber.' Julius communicated with her through their connection.
'Understood!' She continued to trade blows with Berserker.
Heracles swung his sword-axe and Saber pirouetted out of the way as she aimed for the demigod's neck. Even in his berserk state, Berserker managed to dodge with a step back and counter with a punch that Artoria blocked with her sword, though she fell back several meters.
While the fight was going on Julius was concentrating magical energy. Illya noticed this and summoned birds of white light that looked like holograms. The birds fired energy bolts towards Julius, but to Illya's surprise the same birds, though black, appeared around Julius and repeated the action of the originals, countering the energy bolts.
"That's a useful technique, I'll remember it." Julius sneered as he kept his eyes closed and continued to accumulate magical energy.
'Impossible! Did he copy my Stork Knights instantly? No, that's definitely impossible!' Illya thought in shock as the birds on both sides collided and were evenly matched.
Copying an A rank skill from a Servant might be difficult for Julius, but something as simple as magecraft posed no challenge. Furthermore, once he copied it, he learned the process to carry out the required thaumaturgy, which meant he could use it again without the need for [Record].
It was different from Servant skills, as you had to possess them in order to use them under normal conditions.
At that moment, Julius opened his eyes.
Illya suddenly noticed the amount of magical energy surrounding the magus's body and took a step back.
"Berserker, come back!" She ordered her Servant to retreat as she sensed that something terrible was about to happen.
Julius smiled.
"It's still not perfect." He muttered, and for some reason, everyone could hear him. "Too late."
He reached out his hand, and a blue sphere appeared floating above it. The sphere began to fill with all sorts of colors, and the world of all the presents turned black, with the only colors being the ones shining on Julius's hand.
"Great Door of All Doors;
Guide of Endless Cosmos;
Key to all Mysterious Worlds." As the chant, he used the honorific name of Bethel Abraham, knowing that it would be a representation of his future self, his destiny.
Sure enough, the sphere instantly expanded with unmatched speed until it covered them all. Even Berserker stood still cautiously.
Their environment had changed, and now they seemed to be floating in space, without any kind of ground to stand on. The stars surrounded them, though they flickered as if they were going to disappear at any moment.
Julius dropped to one knee, which seemed strange as they floated through the void.
"Indeed, I still have to perfect it." He gasped for air and got up.
"Reality Marble..." Illya's voice trembled as she took in the situation.
'Artoria, I need you to go to Shirou and cover his eyes, cover your eyes too!' Julius felt that he couldn't last more than a few seconds fighting against the World itself, since it wanted to destroy his Reality Marble. 'Now!'
Saber snapped out of the momentary shock of him and used Mana Burst once more to appear at Shirou's side and cover him.
At the same moment, Julius underwent a transformation. His eyes transformed into small worms, which in turn seemed to be made up of illusory doors and glowed with starlight. At the same time, his entire body squirmed, as if countless additional worms were under his skin.
A giant, spectral blue door materialized behind Julius, who was in his incomplete Mythical Creature form.
Worms of Stars made up the door, but they seemed to be dying and writhing in pain.
Seeing this, Berserker gasped and grabbed his neck. With his strength, he managed to snap his neck, though he immediately regenerated and snapped it again.
Illya had managed to see how Saber was going to cover Shirou's eyes, so she reacted much earlier and tried to close them as well. Even so, she had caught a glimpse of the Worms of Stars in Julius's eyes, causing her head to spin, and she began to vomit uncontrollably. Unlike Heracles, she didn't have Divinity, which would soften the blow a bit, but her sanity allowed her to act as quickly as possible, also unlike her Servant.
Two seconds later, the world cracked open, and they returned to the deserted street as if nothing had happened. In this short period, however, Heracles killed himself 8 times.
Julius's Mythical Creature form had vanished along with his Reality Marble, and he barely managed to stay conscious.
'Finish Berserker, Saber.' His hand glowed red for a moment as one of his Command Seals disappeared.
Artoria's eyes widened as she felt power welling up.
"Yes, master!"

Before anyone can get shocked at how an incomplete Mythical Creature form can damage someone with Divinity A, I should explain that even in LoTM, when Beyonders transform they can still affect other Beyonders above their level if they don't activate their transformation as well. I also consider that the madness of a Berserker helps the process of "loss of control" that the Mythical Creature causes.
