章 56: 56. Something Fishy

"What is Bell doing?" The bear asked nobody in particular, but Blaze gawked at a talking animal.

The bear then turned to Blaze. "Sneaky thief, where are you going?"

"You…you talk?" Blaze stuttered with a bewildered expression for the first time. Although magic surprised him, a talking animal spooked him.

"Why can't I? Do you think your human language is anything impressive? Besides, all Awaken beasts could talk," the bear retorted, his voice laced with disdain as if he had been subjected to the condescending treatment often reserved for illiterates in a village. Clearly offended by Blaze's implication, the bear's anger simmered, its intelligence insulted. Illuminated by the moonlight, the bear's expression became discernible, further accentuating its displeasure.

Blaze calmed his nerves after he found out that the near wasn't a bloodthirsty, wild animal. "All Awaken beasts talk?" Instead, his brain started recalling the previous Awakened Hyenas issue.
