Storm arrived at the palace but didn't drive all the way to the parking lot. He stopped the car immediately after going through the gate and then climbed out.

"You can retire for the day after parking it." He informed Seth through the half-opened glass, before he proceeded into the main palace through the front entrance instead of his usual route.

The empty house welcomed him, but it was a sight he was already used to. When he reached the room where Ellie slept the night before, he paused and gazed at the door for a while. His hand reached out toward it, but he stopped himself before he could touch the handle.

Frowning, he continued to his room, walked inside, and shut the door behind him.

"I didn't raise a quitter. Why are you giving up so soon?" Zuri's voice echoed from across the dark room.
