章 302: Chapter 302: Hagrid's Annoyance

"Hurry, Fred! Lee Jordan is down! I spotted Albert. Flank him from the side and rear, don't let him escape again."

George's voice echoed through the forest.

The three of them were chasing Albert, attempting to use spells to defeat him.

Practicing combat in the Forbidden Forest was Albert's idea.

If they were planning to venture into the Forbidden Forest to find Gryffindor's secret treasure, they needed to learn how to fight enemies within the forest. The forest was full of trees, making it challenging to hit moving targets with spells.

Moreover, the most crucial aspect was learning how to deal with possible ambushes and improving their endurance to avoid exhausting themselves in the Forbidden Forest.

The incident with the Acromantulas last time had made Albert extremely cautious. He believed those giant spiders held malice towards all wizards who entered the Forbidden Forest. During their next foray into the forest, he expected to encounter considerable trouble.

"Disarm him!"

A flash of red light darted by, causing Albert to quickly retract, while a tree behind him had a large chunk of bark blown away by a spell.

"Blocked off?" Albert muttered. Although he had successfully used the Disarming Charm to eliminate Lee Jordan earlier, he was now cornered by the twins.

"Capture Albert, and next time, he's treating us to a trio of broomsticks." Fred's face flushed red, and he excitedly shouted.

This situation wasn't the first time; however, in previous instances, they had been defeated by Albert.

Subsequently, they had decided not to use Disillusionment Charms or the Protego spell. In one-on-one situations, their spell accuracy would truly be tested.

It was akin to shooting; once the distance exceeded one hundred feet (about thirty meters), accuracy waned, and hitting the target relied purely on instinct. The ongoing practical exercise was essentially honing spell precision and dodging abilities.

Albert took a deep breath, charged forward, and engaged them in a spell precision contest.

"Anticipated you'd do that." Fred and George chimed in unison.

"Disarm him!"

They now had several methods to counter Albert. Whether it was diverting his attention or a direct confrontation, they had gained experience.

As for flanking and escaping, Albert no longer had opportunities for those tactics.

"Disarm him!" All three spells missed their mark, sending dirt flying around.

"Disarm him!" Albert halted his steps, aimed the Disarming Charm at Fred, and successfully hit his target. Fred's wand was dislodged from his grip and flew away.

Before he could dive behind a nearby tree, another Disarming Charm was already hurtling towards him.

With a flick of his hand, Albert slapped the Disarming Charm away, leaving a scorched mark on the tree.

Witnessing this, George froze on the spot. He had also been eliminated by Albert's Disarming Charm.

"You're cheating!" George yelled in frustration at Albert. However, as he came to his senses, he realized what had happened. Albert had used a protective bracelet; otherwise, how could he have deflected the spell with a slap?

"You never said we couldn't use protective bracelets." Albert retorted with righteous indignation.

Just as Fred and George were about to respond, a voice from not too far away interrupted them.

"Who's there? Come out! I saw you."

"Hagrid."

A jolt surged through Albert's heart, and he quickly dove behind a nearby tree, casting a Disillusionment Charm on himself, preparing to slip away.

"Where's Albert? That bloke's actually disappeared!" Fred and George hurriedly lunged for their wands. As Fred picked up his wand, preparing to cast a Disillusionment Charm on himself, Hagrid emerged within their line of sight, staring at them with displeasure.

"What are you all doing in the Forbidden Forest?"

"Practicing magic." The twins promptly thought on their feet. "Stun and Impediment jinxes, you know. Magic's forbidden in the castle, so we have to practice at the forest's outskirts."

"Practicing magic?"

"Albert's here too. When we heard you were coming, he sneaked away," George immediately snitched, attempting to drag his roommate into the trouble as well.

"Where's Albert?" Hagrid scanned his surroundings, frowning.

"He probably heard you coming and deliberately hid," Fred gritted his teeth.

"Don't think you can slip away." Hagrid warned, looking around and shouting, "Albert, come out. It's time to go back."

However, there was no response, as if there was no one around at all.

"He definitely slipped away on his own," Fred and George exclaimed in frustration.

Alright, don't let me catch you wandering around in the Forbidden Forest. Maybe I should let Professor McGonagall teach you a lesson.

"No next time, Hagrid, we promise," the twins chimed in unison.

"Promise my foot," Hagrid didn't believe a word they said.

When they returned to the school, they found Albert and Lee Jordan feeding Fang by Hagrid's hut.

"You two idiots actually slipped away."

"We were looking for you," Lee Jordan innocently blinked his small eyes and said, "Albert said you guys were heading towards the Forbidden Forest, so we came to check."

"Humph, you two little scoundrels, come with me to see Professor McGonagall." Hagrid snorted and grabbed Fred and George, leading them towards the castle.

"Hagrid, can't we discuss this?"

"Why didn't you come discuss with me before entering the Forbidden Forest?"

"They sure are pitiable!" Lee Jordan said with glee.

"Who asked them to be slow at sneaking away?" Albert looked innocent, thinking that it was better for two people to get caught than three!

"You have a point." Lee Jordan grinned maliciously.

When they next saw Fred and George, the two were full of resentment and ignored Albert, saying to themselves, "Professor McGonagall asked us to copy the school rules."

"That's great. Knowing the rules means you can find loopholes later," Albert said nonchalantly. "Alright, don't be angry. I'll treat you both to a trio of broomsticks next time."

"You actually know the school rules?" Lee Jordan asked curiously.

"Of course, I've read them before," Albert began to tease them again, "there's quite a lot of them, probably going to take a while to copy."

"Thanks for the reminder," Fred said through gritted teeth.

"I heard someone has to copy the school rules?" Katrina walked over, her gaze briefly resting on the twins before handing a letter to Albert.

"A love letter?" George taunted.

"Clearly not," Albert rolled his eyes, and Katrina shot a fierce glare at George before walking away.

"I remember Percy writing that kind of stuff for a Muggle girl in the village," George casually explained.

"Thanks for your unnecessary commentary. Also, I haven't written any love letters, and we're not in a romantic relationship, just ordinary pen pals." Percy appeared from nowhere, his face gloomy as he addressed Fred and George, "I heard you two caused trouble again and got put in detention by Professor McGonagall."

"We're heading to the library. Got a lot of homework to finish. See you later, Percy." The twins were ready to leave. They didn't want to encounter Percy at this moment.

"I saw that many of Gryffindor's gems have gone missing again," Percy's eyes glinted dangerously, warning coldly, "and if I find out you're spreading rumors about me again..."

"No, we wouldn't do anything so extreme."

"Cough, we won't spread rumors," Albert said as he and Lee Jordan walked towards the library.
