章 63: High-Level

Temari nodded, her confidence returning as she delved into the subject. "The high-level technique in Suna is known as Sand Sculpting. It's not about manipulating the sand into weapons or shields as some might do with Sand Manipulation. Instead, it requires the shinobi to shape intricate sculptures and patterns from sand, controlling the grains with the utmost precision."

The idea itself seemed to captivate Ryomaru, who leaned forward with visible interest. His ice-blue eyes sparkled with curiosity, clearly intrigued by the complexity of the technique.

"It sounds... incredibly delicate," he murmured, his mind already working on how the skill might be developed.

Temari nodded, her eyes filled with determination. "It is. While Sand Drawing is about broad control and Sand Balancing emphasizes adaptability, Sand Sculpting is a testament to one's mastery over precision and finesse. To create a sand sculpture, one must exert the finest control over their chakra, directing the sand grains to move in harmony."

Hinata's eyes widened at the explanation, clearly fascinated by the idea. "That sounds incredibly beautiful," she whispered, a soft smile playing on her lips.

Hanabi nodded in agreement, her expression one of admiration. "And incredibly difficult," she added, her tone filled with respect.

Temari's smile returned, albeit with a hint of wistfulness. "Yes, it's both beautiful and difficult. The sculptures can be as simple as a small flower or as complex as an entire landscape, depending on the skill of the shinobi. Every grain must be placed perfectly, every detail rendered with care."

Ryomaru's gaze was thoughtful, his mind absorbing every word. "I can see why it's considered a high-level technique," he mused, looking up to meet Temari's eyes. "It's not just about power or force; it's about understanding and patience. The connection between the sand and the chakra must be almost intimate."

Temari nodded, pleased by Ryomaru's insight. "Exactly. It's a dance between the mind and the material, a reflection of the shinobi's inner self. Mastering Sand Sculpting means becoming one with the sand, feeling its flow, understanding its nature."

"That must be why it's so challenging for you," Hanabi remarked, her eyes filled with understanding.

Temari's face flushed slightly, but she nodded. "Yes, it requires a level of serenity and focus that I'm still working on. It's not enough to simply want to control the sand; one must truly understand it."

Ryomaru's face softened, his voice gentle. "But you will, Temari. You already have an incredible understanding of the sand, and you've shown remarkable control with Sand Balancing. You'll master Sand Sculpting too."

Temari's eyes brightened, Ryomaru's words filling her with renewed determination. "Thank you, Ryomaru. I believe so too."

Ryomaru then gave each of them a piece of cloud to work on Cloud Shaping. They had already mastered their respective low-level Chakra Control techniques and just had to get used to shaping the cloud. Ryomaru watched them with a smile, his ice-blue eyes gleaming with pride as his friends began their unique creations.

Hinata, her gentle soul reflected in her chakra control, began to form a delicate butterfly with her cloud. Its wings were perfectly symmetrical, imbued with an elegance that spoke of her innate grace. She looked up, a soft smile of satisfaction on her face. "It's peaceful," she whispered, her eyes filled with contentment.

Hanabi's cloud took on a more dynamic shape, forming into a vibrant bird in flight. Her eyes sparkled with determination and joy as she worked, bringing her creation to life. "I wanted to capture something free and strong," she declared, her voice filled with enthusiasm. "Like a hawk soaring through the sky."

Temari, ever the strategist, focused her cloud into an intricate maze, her eyes narrowed in concentration as she shaped the twists and turns. "I thought it would be interesting to create something challenging," she explained, her voice thoughtful. "A puzzle to solve."

Ryomaru nodded, impressed by each of their creations. They all reflected their unique personalities and interests. He then turned his attention to the sand Temari had left after demonstrating Sand Balancing. A thoughtful expression crossed his face as he focused his chakra, his hand pulsing with energy.

In his mind, he pictured his mother, Miori, and the sand began to form under his touch, taking the shape of her gentle face. His heart swelled with love as he worked, his connection to the sand growing more intimate with each passing moment.

But before anyone could see his accomplishment, he withdrew his chakra, letting the sand fall back into formless form. He couldn't allow Temari to see that he had done something she couldn't on his first try. It would hurt her confidence, and Ryomaru couldn't do such a thing to his friend.

What he didn't realize was that Mabui had been watching them from under the shade of a tree. Her eyes widened in amazement as she witnessed Ryomaru's skill and control. But more than that, her heart warmed as she understood his train of thought. Any other nine-year-old might boast about their success, but Ryomaru had hidden his achievement to protect the confidence of his friend.

She found herself smiling, a deep sense of admiration and affection for the young boy welling up inside her. She knew his mother well, and she could see the same loving spirit in Ryomaru that Miori had. It was a beautiful thing to witness, and she felt privileged to have seen it.

Meanwhile, Ryomaru rejoined his friends, his face reflecting nothing but joy and interest in their continued practice.

"That's amazing, Hinata!" he exclaimed, admiring her butterfly. "And Hanabi, that hawk is incredible! Temari, I've never seen anything like that maze before!"

They each beamed at his praise, their faces glowing with pride and excitement.

"Thank you, Ryomaru!" Hanabi said, her voice filled with gratitude. "Your encouragement means a lot."

"Yeah," Temari added, her eyes meeting Ryomaru's with a warm smile. "You always know how to make us feel good about our progress."

Ryomaru's face softened, his ice-blue eyes filled with sincerity. "Because you're all talented and amazing," he replied. "And I know you'll only get better."

They continued to work, each one focused on perfecting their cloud shapes, laughter and encouragement filling the air. They were a team, a group of friends bound by a shared passion for learning and growing.
