She paused, her eyes lowering to her belly. "But... I didn't know I was pregnant at the time."

Fu Lin's fists clenched in anger.

"It has to be. That's the only thing that makes sense. We thought she had fully recovered, but the pains started again a few months ago."

"Does the pain come in waves, or is it constant?" Su Jiyai asked. 

"It comes in waves," Rui Wang answered weakly.

"Sometimes it's manageable, but other times... like now..." Her voice trailed off, another wave of pain clearly gripping her.

"Rui Wang, I understand your concern about taking healing pills, especially since you're worried about harming the baby."
