"What's going on?" I demanded, the tears in my eyes drying up as stress took their place.
Dr. Deshaye looked at me and opened her mouth a few times. "I just need to confirm a few things before we discuss what is going on," she explained after a moment's pause.
"Not good enough, doc," I said, struggling to come to a seated position. I could feel one of the guys supporting my back as I sat up on the table. "I want to know now."
She looked at me as there was a knock on the door to the room. "Come in," she called out. I heard the sound of someone trying to turn the handle on the other side of the door, but the door didn't open.
"Doctor, it seems like the door is locked," called out the nurse from the other side. "I have the ultrasound machine here for you."
