章 67: Warm and gentle

Ten minutes later, inside the car. Iris had fallen asleep because of the effects of the medications. I sighed as I watched her sleeping face. I took off my coat and covered her body with it. The weather was cold and she wasn't wearing any warm clothes. I ordered the driver to turn on the heater so she could sleep comfortably and warmly.

I reached to push the hair that fell on her face away. I found myself smiling as I stared at her. Leaning closer, I pressed a kiss on her forehead and she suddenly started muttering things in her sleep.

"S-stop…. p-please… n-no…" Iris continued repeating these words in her sleep.

She started shaking and sobbing in her sleep and was left with no choice but to hold her in my arms and this seemed to work because she stopped crying.

"Shhh. I'm here for you." I whispered in her ear and she gradually started relaxing in my arms.
