章 23: New Organisation
"What were you thinking?!" Dad yelled at me as soon as I sat down
"Calm down. There is no way she won't join."
"And how do you know that?"
"Because I know her. It doesn't matter if she had thought that she wanted to continue her normal life. Now that she knows that there is a new world out there and she is indeed a part of it. There is no way she will be able to hold in her curiosity. She will want to explore this part of her."
"You better be right about this Owen."
"When have I ever been wrong?" I asked as I relaxed on the chair.
"Also there is one more reason that I decided to make her wait before joining us."
"And what is that?"
"I don't want her to join the Light Cavalry group." I said
"What?! Why not?" Dad asked in shock.
He actually thought that I would be thrilled to have one of friends be an awakened one and join us which I am.
But I have come to realise something from this entire ordeal.
It is just way too easy for a group to fall down.
After destroying a group myself, I have had this realisation. Sure not a lot of people use these kinds of tricks but only focus on power and strength in order to destroy a group.
But let's say that one day there comes a person who is cunning as hell and plans the entire downfall of our group. Will we be able to survive that?
No. I am not confident enough to win a battle of wits.
"I want to create a new group. Completely separate from the Light Cavalry group."
".....Please tell me you are kidding right now."
"No. I am absolutely serious."
"What in the world could possibly make you think that this is a good idea?! You want to leave our group and everything I have worked for?!"
"Calm down. I am not leaving Light Cavalry. I am just creating a new group." I said
"Explain." Dad said and sat back down on his chair
"I have come to realise just how fragile a group really is. Which is why I want to create an organisation which on paper will have no affiliation to us at all but will help us out in times of need. I want to create that group so that we can have something to fall back on if a similar thing happens to us like what we did to Virtuosos and all the other groups today."
I then took a few minutes to explain the rest of the things about the group.
First, it will be a shadow organisation fulfilling two objectives at first, one is raising money and the other is raising strong awakened ones.
Second, after the group has enough number of members and strength, it will start taking on mercenary jobs and it will operate only in Europe.
This thing will also serve a huge purpose. One is that since it will operate only in Europe, no one will be able to hire them for a job to work against our group.Second it will create a name for itself as a mercenary organisation which will definitely set it apart from our group and it will also make it less suspicious.
I mean imagine if there is a group with strong awakened ones but the group doesn't do anything at all. That just makes it look suspicious and the obvious conclusion will be that either it is a subsidiary group of a big group or an evil organisation. This way it will get rid of that suspicion.
Plus, since I am in England for the next few years, it will be much more easier for me to manage the group. I also have the benefit of leaving the academy's grounds whenever possible so I can go over there personally in case of emergencies.
"Alright I get what you are trying to do and to be honest it isn't a bad idea. But it has a major flaw." Dad said
"What?" I asked
"The reason why the awakened groups are fragile are because of the lack of loyalty in some of it's people. I know since I myself have exploited that many times in the past. Which is why you are going to have to take members in who are extremely loyal to you. Otherwise you are just creating another same awakened group."
"I have thought about that too. And I do have some people in mind who will be ready to join me."
"You can't take anyone from our group as that will leave a trail and anyone with a little common sense will be able to trace it back to us."
"Yeah I know. Otherwise I would have already asked Ben and Aunt Sarah. Right now I have only 4 people in mind including myself and Elsa for this group."
"Oh? And who are they?"
"I will tell you after it is confirmed that they will join."
"Alright. But I do want to ask you something. Why do you want Elsa to join your group so much?"
"Because of her ability."
"Cryokinesis the ability to manifest and manipulate ice. It is a strong ability but I don't think it is enough for you to want her so bad. She is your friend. Is that one of the reasons you want her to join you new group."
"I will be lying if I say that that isn't part of the reason. But the real reason is indeed her ability which by the way isn't Cryokinesis."
"What?"
"When I was rescuing her from that room, I touched her arm and it was as if I was touching ice itself."
Dad suddenly stood up from his chair with wide eyes.
"Do you mean that..?"
"Yes. It is only a speculation on my part since her powers haven't developed properly yet but yeah. Elsa might be able to elimentalise herself into ice. And you know just how powerful that ability is right?" I said
This information gave dad a huge shock. And I suppose it will shock anyone when they hear it.
The reason is that elimentalising themselves with their ability is incredibly rare and a very powerful ability to have.
There have only been a few people who have had this ability in the past and all of them were monsters.
That is because elimentalising yourself makes it much much more easier to control that very element. It becomes almost as easy as breathing.
'She is turning out to be more and more like the Disney princess'
"Owen! That's unbelievable!! This news can turn the world upside down! There have only been very few people with that ability in the entire history!!"
"I know. That is why we can't let her ability be known to the public. Which is why if she joins the new group I am making, her ability will remain concealed from the rest of the world until she is strong enough."
"Yes. I completely agree with that. Proceed as you wish. You have my full permission to create a new group while still being the heir to the Light Cavalry group. Also, What are you going to name it?"
"Hm...."
Only one name comes to mind
