章 142: To copy the handwriting

In the evening Court Lady Donggu with trembling hands gave the royal seal of the Grand Empress Dowager to Xianwu. "Please return it to me soon. I need to put it back in its place," she requested. 

"I'll hand you this tonight," Xianwu stated. "Lady Donggu is good at her work. I like her loyalty," he taunted her. 

Court Lady Donggu bowed and walked away. Xianwu examined the authenticity of the seal and thought to ask Jia Li about it. As he entered her chamber, he asked the servants to leave in a hurry. Jia Li was puzzled by his actions and placed the flower vase on the table. 

"What happened?" Jia Li inquired him. 

Xianwu showed her the royal seal, which caused Jia Li's eyes to grow bigger and she took it from him. "It is of Grandmother. How did you get your hands on it?" she inquired with a confused look. "Did you steal it? But why?" She kept her voice low. 

"I didn't seal it. Lady Donggu brought this for me," Xianwu replied with a smile.
