章 64: Ch 63: The "It Factor"

  Minami fidgeted with the collar of her navy dress as Yuu brought over some tea.

  "So…I assume you didn't come here to just casually chat, right?" Yuu placed the tea on the coffee table, his hands trembling slightly.

  'Did Naoto talk to her? Did he tell her the truth? Is she going to get mad at me for firing him?'

  He slowly sat down next to her, taking a deep breath and prepping for her to get upset at him.

  Surprisingly, that's not what came next.

  "I wanted to talk to you about….my future…." Minami held her hands in her lap and stared down at them, her ash brown hair hanging off her and covering her face.

  "Y-yeah?" Yuu gulped hard.

  'Did that jerk tell her something to try and dissuade her from her dreams? I'll kill him. How can he do that to her? Does he not see that this is what gives her life?'

  Minami began to speak in a quiet and squeaking voice, "I'm really sorry…..I think I'm dragging you down."
