章 7: Chapter 8
Tanya was up against all kinds of opponents who had greater advantages over her.
There was usually a clear difference in the world she was in when it came to the bodies and talents of males and females.
Tanya learned that very early after seeing far fewer female soldiers and it was even rarer to have females in higher positions.
Tanya had a slightly malnourished and smaller frame than other girls her age so she was tiny in comparison to males her age or older. If it was anyone else then they would have despaired with such a reality but not Tanya.
What could be a disadvantage for others was an advantage for her.
Her body was small and light which allowed for quick and agile movements, Systema further helped to bring out her combat potential as she used her opponent's attacks against them and outmaneuvered them.
Harsh training and regular meals helped her to overcome the physical gap between herself and her opponents as her body gradually improved which allowed her to quickly rise through the rankings. Her recent opponent was a larger boy who was thirteen years old and she had become seven years old after the time that had passed during training.
They were number one and she was number two in the rankings.
Her opponent took the initiative to engage in the battle and shorten the distance.
They wanted to use their power and large body to capture and contain Tanya who he knew was a difficult opponent to deal with.
He was not the first opponent to think up such a tactic. Tanya ducked low turning her body to the side followed up with an elbow strike to their gut causing them to be winded for a moment.
Her body rotated on the spot moving backwards. Her opponent had bent over allowing her raised elbow to come around and strike high further stunning and inflicting a dangerous blow.
The combo move continued without halting as her rotation continued with a jumping spinning kick toward their stomach sending them down to the ground with ease.
Rich observed as he thought to himself. 'She has already outgrown them all. Not bad!'
