The matter of revenge has come to an end, and Mark has made proper arrangements for the deceased employees and their surviving families.
With one thing off his mind, Mark can now continue to dedicate himself to his research projects.
Regarding the research on the Space Stone and the Mind Stone, Mark has made significant breakthroughs.
Firstly, in the application of space portals, Mark has completed theoretical research on utilizing the cosmic cube's energy to break through spatial barriers and establish connections between two locations. However, due to the lack of an infinite power source to conduct the actual experiment, it has only been simulated in a virtual laboratory and has not been tested practically.
As for the kind of dimensional portals that can transcend dimensions like in "Big Hero 6," Mark currently has no clue on how to achieve it. Finding the space of other dimensions has become a bottleneck that troubles Mark.
However, after some contemplation, Mark has come to some conclusions. He has determined the feasibility of dimensional folding attacks because in the three-dimensional world, all the properties and functions of matter are determined by its three-dimensional structure.
Once the dimension is reduced, all its properties will disappear, and all activities will cease, reaching absolute zero, which is deemed impossible to achieve in three-dimensional cosmic space according to the third law of thermodynamics.
Of course, this kind of dimensional attack is not irreversible; it is possible to reverse it. However, for organisms, the most crucial protein structure in their bodies is three-dimensional.
In the process of dimensional folding and subsequent restoration to three-dimensional molecules, proteins lose their activity. Therefore, dimensional folding attacks are catastrophic for living beings, with no possibility of survival.
However, the confirmation of this principle has no practical effect on Mark's research.
In terms of research on the Mind Stone, Mark has also made some gains. By studying the faint self-consciousness born within the stone, Mark has simulated more advanced artificial intelligence models and used them as a blueprint to upgrade Baymax's intelligence core.
The results show that although the upgrade only increased Baymax's processing speed by thirty percent, there was a significant improvement in the sensitivity to emotional perception and the accuracy of analysis, making Baymax's way of thinking closer to that of humans.
Thanks to this upgrade, Mark was able to analyze the Extremis virus in time and complete the decryption task before irreversible damage occurred to his right hand.
Unfortunately, both of these research projects have seemingly reached a bottleneck at the moment. Despite spending a significant amount of time, Mark has not achieved any further breakthroughs.
However, now Mark has the opportunity to break through this predicament and, at the same time, the opportunity to push his own limits.
Maya Hansen's research achievements in Extremis transformation have sparked Mark's imagination. It reminded him of a sci-fi art film he had seen in his previous life, directed by Luc Besson and starring the Black Widow, called "Lucy."
What impressed Mark in the movie was the various superpowers that emerged as a result of increased brain utilization. An example given was dolphins, which have a 20% brain utilization compared to humans' 10% and possess sonar as an additional sense.
If human brain utilization were also enhanced, it would undoubtedly evolve other abilities, becoming even more powerful.
In the movie, the substance that can increase brain utilization is a drug called "cph4."
When a mother is six weeks pregnant, she secretes a small amount of "cph4," which affects the brain development of the fetus. This process is a crucial factor in endowing human beings with intellect.
However, this crystalline substance, resembling a blue gem, is a lethal drug when inhaled in small amounts for adults. The female protagonist, by a stroke of luck, absorbs a large amount of "cph4" but survives the ordeal. Instead, her brain utilization keeps increasing, granting her unimaginable superhuman abilities and intelligence.
In the Marvel Universe, such a substance as "cph4" does not exist. The growth and development of the human brain rely entirely on the division and proliferation of stem cells within the body.
However, the utilization of the Extremis virus has shown Mark a viable direction.
The core principle of the Extremis transformation is to utilize the Extremis virus's transcription RNA to reactivate the central nervous system in the human brain, fully unleashing the body's self-repair potential. This allows the body to achieve limb regeneration, similar to some lizards, relying solely on its regenerative capabilities.
Moreover, this healing speed is much faster than any organism in the natural world possessing this ability.
It's like what Kilian mentioned in his speech: in the face of the virus, the human brain is like an unprotected computer hard drive, and the Extremis virus can freely invade and rewrite the programs within it.
Mark believes that by employing the encoding ability of the Extremis virus, he can find a safe and effective method to enhance his own brain utilization. This would result in increased intelligence and the resolution of the current difficulties he faced in his research.
