章 13: The Flame

Luca certainly felt empathy because he knew the pain of holding back the desire.

Luca or the other dragons certainly wouldn't mind if their leader mate was a male human. However, he needed to convince Maximillian. If the tension that Maximilian was feeling right now couldn't be channeled, then the man would slowly lose his mind and could do the worst possible thing.

Luca felt sorry for the boy in front of him. Luca was a bit different from other dragons. Not like his leader or other dragons, he had sympathy for humans because he was also helped by humans in the past. He didn't hate them at all.

"Eden, you… can you sleep with Lord Maximillian?"

"WHAT!?"

Edna cried out in surprise. She batted her eyes, hoping that what she heard just now was just a misunderstanding.

Sleep? With her master? No, she couldn't. Edna could never do that. It would only bring her trauma back. She was already scared to death of the shadows of Uncle Jo coming into her room to touch her. She wouldn't be able to do it.

Moreover, she was now disguised as a man.

"But… I am a man…"

"I know this sounds weird. But… ugh… it's actually not a problem. Eden, I don't mean to force you, but this is for the good of all of us."

"I don't understand." Edna tried to divert Luca's attention from her.

I-I don't know the exact location, but I've heard that you can hire women to sleep with you. C-couldn't you just call them?"

"Eden, don't you feel anything for Lord Maximillian?" asked Luca, making Edna shake her head quickly.

She was confused as to why the man asked her something so strange. Luca wasn't exactly sure how mate bonding worked. What he knew, if there was a mate bond between two individuals, then the bond would be felt by both parties.

"No, I don't feel anything! How could I do such a thing? I am a man!"

Luca watched Edna closely. He looked at the boy from head to toe.

"It seems I guessed it wrong. You're right, I should just call some women instead. Please prepare a sumptuous dinner for Lord Maximilian. I will be back shortly."

Luca made sure that his master was asleep. Even though the man looked restless and sweaty in his sleep, at least he wasn't having tantrums anymore. Luca left the mansion to find prostitutes at a nearby brothel and then he hired three women at once.

He took them back to the mansion. Edna, who had finished preparing dinner, ran into Luca who just returned with three beautiful women. They were much prettier than her. Their blonde hair glistened under the moonlight and their lips were as red as alluring blood. It was so sensual. Their breasts protruded beautifully.

Edna knew well enough that those kinds of women were what men wanted. Her two stepsisters, Lucy and Marionette, always wanted the same thing as the three women in front of her right now. They both always tried many things to make their skin brighter, dye their lips red, or make their breasts bigger.

Edna stepped back to follow Luca's steps and the three summoned women entered Mr. Maximillian's room, while she was just waiting outside for Luca to give her a new order.

Nothing happened. There was only silence.

"WHAT THE HELL!? What are you doing you bastard!? Have you gone mad?!!!"

Edna took a step back in fright.

BAM!

"Kyaaaaa!!!"

The door in front of Edna was thrown open. It collapsed the moment someone flew to the other end of the room. Luca, along with the broken door, flew fast until he hit the wall. The man looked in pain. Even his temples were bleeding.

Edna wanted to run to help Luca, but once again she could only freeze in her place upon feeling the domineering aura overpowering her. It was a killing primal aura that burst out from the room belonging to her master.

Maximilian appeared with glowing golden eyes, the black pupils in the center of his golden irises thinned like those of a cat. Between his lips emitted sizzling steam, and there was a burning flame in his right hand. His fiery red hair was blown by the wind.

Maximillian was ready to kill Luca and there was nothing Edna could do.

"You. Are you insulting me, young dragon?"

Dragon? Edna flinched.

"I will never forget this insult. You ... brought me three disgusting rats like them? Humans? Really? You never learn from your mistakes, huh? I'm already kind enough to let that human be my servant and you want me to sleep with them? You and your entire bloodline will end tonight too."

Luca coughed up blood. "M-my Lord… I'm sorry. I-I… cough… didn't mean to offend you. It's just… it's just… you look in so much pain."

"The hell with the pain! You are looking down on me now! You think I'm that weak!?"

Maximilian was about to send his fiery fist towards Luca who couldn't stand up anymore.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, Edna threw away the tray containing the food and ran towards Maximillian's hand which was still emitting flame. Her two little hands tightly hugged the man's hand until the flame was extinguished.

Edna kept holding it and even placing her small body between the two grown men without knowing what the consequences befell her.

Maximillian and Luca looked at Edna with their eyes bulged. For a moment, there was only silence. Only the sound of the flame in Maximillian's hand going out was heard in the room.

Maximillian was sure that he was still emitting his flame, but, why couldn't the flame in his hand ignite? He tried to swing his hand to ignite the flame again, but no flame came out. Edna was still holding his arm very tightly with her eyes closed. When Maximillian waved his hand, the youth's light body swayed along with it, but she didn't even try to let go of her hand.

"E-Eden?" called Luca in a hoarse voice.

Edna was thrown backward, and Luca quickly grabbed her before her small back hit the wall. Maximilian looked at Edna who was now unconscious. Her breath was heavy. Maximillian then glanced at her once again.
