章 3: It's Quite Nice Here..

Now what?
Hahh! I know I wanted this, but I'm starting to think I didn't think this through enough! Now I'm stranded in another world, with nothing to my name! Hell! I don't even have a name anymore! And I'm sure as all heaven I am NOT Adam anymore..
But, it is quite the view..
Here, there is no pollution, no waste nor contaminants of any form. Just the cruel but true cycle of nature.
It's a new start, that's for sure. What to start exactly, is the dilemma here..
A new life? Did I even want one in the first place? I just didn't wanna be 'there'.. after all. Eh, guess I'll roll with it.
Crisis OVER!
"kuhaha!" I can't help but giggle, this new body sure is lively.
There's much I've learned in the time I've spent here near the lake. First thing, since I've got no 'body', the limits of body and mind aren't exactly separated, therefore my... peculiar behavior..
I now have quite a bit of energy, and a lot of wanting to let all of that out. Oftentimes I find myself to have just subconsciously started moving, whether it be jumping in place, swinging my tiny legs, fiddling with random objects... the list goes on..
And not to mention, this uncanny feeling of claustrophobia! On top of not being able to sit still, I don't like cramped places at all! How'd I find out? Well, I kind of tried living my childish dreams of living in a tiny hobbit hole... yeah..

"AHHHH!! LET ME OUT! I CAN'T TAKE THIS NO MORE!!" A shrill, bell-like voice echoed from a small, crudely made burrow, startling all kinds of woodland creatures.

It just didn't feel right okay!?
How could you expect a now-devious little creature like me to live in such a confined space! Former-failed artist me could've, and he did, but not ME!
Now, why am I pointing all this out? It is quite simple, elementary really.

What am I?
Well, based on my findings from experiments done first hand (hobbit hole incident) and observations made by the glorious me, I have concluded that I am a spirit!.. hypothetically of some sort, I think!

Wait! Wait! I'm not done you see~!
Let's recall, I have an urge to run around, can't sit still, overwhelming sense of freedom, aversion to small spaces, and last but not least! The very obviously made of air- clouds?.. let's stick with clouds.. I don't think air is a fluffy white at all, a body made of fluffy clouds!
In other words, if my RPG and game knowledge doth not fail me, I am a classic wind spirit!
Wind Spirit... kind of a boring name to be honest.. Hmm... Humun-Cumulus? Cumulonculi? A little cheesy..
Stratusphoid? Too scientific for a fantasy world! Listen! I would do Seraphim, because I kind of look like it, but I'm not sure if angels exist here yet, don't want to get sued by Heaven..
Zephyr? It has some history behind it, and it kind of sounds cool and ancient.
What? If I'm gonna live in this world, I need a fitting name! One that sounds cool and rolls off the tongue, don't wanna end up an urban legend with a stupid name! I can think of a few too many with the same fate!
Yeah, Zephyr will do..
But if someone asks... Stratusphoid as a species name doesn't sound too bad either.. heh..
Anyway! What do Zephyrs do you ask?
Well, It's been only a few days, but I've already learned some tricks you know?
Ever since I accepted that I am wind, and wind is me.. that has opened my mind for some very nice things..
Turning into wind? Chekchek! That's my new thing now by the way, you can't stop me! This ability is really good, because I don't know if you've noticed, but wind is invisible.. yeah.
But how much wind you ask? Well, I have discovered that my body can dissipate into a form enough to stir up gales all around! Traveling at the speed of wind! Huzzah!
But I don't know if you've noticed this as well but..
Air is everywhere.
That means, I am everywhere... well not yet, my control isn't that good yet. I'm learning! And I don't see you with any powers mister! Wait, who am I talking to?
"Just kidding! You think the fourth wall saved you? No! It was me- Zephyr!!" I say out loud in front of a random tree, or so you think..
Alright, now that I've done that bit JUST IN CASE some invisible camera was watching me to broadcast in an extradimensional TV show, let's move on..
Anyway, my potential is quite literally limitless! Oh boy, I can't wait to become the atmosphere! But for now, all the air in a radius of 20 feet are under my dominion.
And you already know I've practiced my wind blades!
"Watch!" I say as I turn away from the tree I was blankly staring at in order to monologue to the lake.
"Wapow!" I audibly emote, with my voice somehow being able to subconsciously maintain a sense of serenity and dignity.
"Fwoo!" And just like that! The air in my surrounding stirs, awakening in a flurry of lacerating air slashes, each large enough to sever a grown man in twain!
75 damage! Super effective! What did I hit? More air, duh.. I'm not a maniac who would destroy the environment for some dopamine!
And yes, I can maneuver them separately and with grace, I might add. I'm not some two-bit human mage! I'm wind personified! I'm just not like the rest of you! I'm stronger, I'm smarter... I'm better!
I am better.
In all seriousness though, I'm definitely not using these on living beings.
What? You think I'm scared of a little blood? No, It's because I have something better..
Brother, I am wind itself. That I have accepted, and therefore..
The air you breathe, I can take it away.
Easy as that, minimal energy wasted! And just in case a potential enemy needs to chant to cast magic? You see, their possibly arcane, rune wrought brain does not know this trick!
Sound travel where? To who? On what? No air, no sound.
These lands you walk, the air you breathe.. My domain, you will rue the day you find yourself bereft of nature's most basic blessing...
What do you think? See, I can be epic too y'know? They don't need to know I'm basically a child with ADHD, all they need to know is that I can erase them with a thought and I can dish out some pretty nice lines, yeah!
Getting ahead of myself? That, I know very well. Can't help it though, this inbuilt sense of freedom, wind knows no challenge, for there is nowhere it cannot go.
Finally free.
'Of my human responsibilities, of my worldly worries, of my flaws...' burdens I never knew I had dissipate into the atmosphere, like smoke.
I am set free.

(What do you think of the monologues? Too much comedy? A little boring? Well, whatever the case this is how our character is, and I want it to be different, to be.. alive.. well, to the best of my amateurish capabilities, but that's what I want, and what I'm working for.
