Loui nodded, agreeing with her. "That is true."

"Oh, Mon Dieu." Prince appeared very worried.

"What will happen now?" Lucien inquired. 

Pierre shook his head. "There is nothing we can do, Lucien. Once that method is activated on anyone, no one can save them but themselves. The victim will have to overcome his or her fears, and if not, they will eventually die on the seventh night, painfully at that."

Lucien's face contorted in an ugly manner. She glanced at Loui and tightly balled her hands into fists.

"So you're saying that if Lady Avelina is not able to face her biggest fear, she will die? In such a painful way at that? What the fuck?!"

Pierre nodded. "Unfortunately so."
