章 310: The twin guardians

Nakmoth had already been giving Xander a hard time with his shape-shifting abilities, and now this accident with the burial urn compounded Xander's problems by releasing another Shadow Guardian.

"Just how many of you are there?" Xander muttered as he backed away while keeping his eyes on the shattered urn, which was still spilling out a dusty gray residue.

Out of this ashen pile emerged a muscular giant with broad shoulders, and bulging black arms, and sturdy stump-like legs. The shadowy creature looked like an Orcish hybrid which had demonic blood running through its veins.

Standing at eight feet and wielding a spiked mallet in its right hand, the Orcish brute looked like a formidable foe. 

Xander was about to use the Black Hand to strike the newly released Shadow Guardian, but the arm suddenly disappeared. He realized that this too, was a time-limited summon like his direwolf.
