章 86: Battle Scars

The captured Gorgon mercenary, eyes wide with terror, watched as his fellow companions were ruthlessly dragged before him. Their lifeless bodies bore deep slashes across their throats. The scene was gruesome with the strong stench of blood.  As his pupils rippled with fear, they threw his fallen comrades at his feet, the weight of their sacrifice sinking heavily into his heart.

King Liam stopped wiping the blood from his sword and slowly rose to his feet, his gaze icy and devoid of mercy. The captured Gorgon, desperate and trembling, stammered in his own language, begging the king for mercy, for a chance to explain. But his pleas fell on deaf ears.
