章 188: The Match Up
"So, Mr.Mink where the hell have you been? You disappeared at the end of the tournament; you didn't even see Paul win." Kage asks.
"When the attack started on the city, I was checking on an ally, and then I've just been going from battle to battle until I eventually made it here and caught sight of this team up."
After hearing Mr.Mink's statement, all the students look to where Mr.Mink is looking.
"Wait, hold on, isn't that Elias?" Unknown asks.
"Yes, it is. Is he working with the guys attacking the city?" Kage says in an annoyed tone.
"I knew something was weird about him, especially with that relationship with his teacher," Jason says with a judging expression.
"I know, right? I overheard them talking one time, and Mr.Strout wouldn't stop calling him his dear," Unknown says in a weirded-out tone.
"He might be worse than the upper-class fake," Seth remarks.
"Do I need to beat your ass again?" Kage asks Seth in a deep voice.
"Oh, so you admit your fraudulence?" Seth remarks.
"Ok, that's enough chatting boys; focus on the situation at hand," Mr.Mink says in a serious tone.
Mr.Mink points to Killer with a concerned expression on his face.
"Feared Legend Killer is the greatest threat right now. I wouldn't be surprised if he already knew we were here. But we can't skip over the fact Ego is here as well he's probably the most experienced out of the group."
"Most experienced? Are you sure? He looks like our age," Jason mentions.
"Yeah, I could probably kick his ass," Kage states.
"Trust me, he's experienced alright, and he's hard to hit," Mr.Mink says as he remembers their fight from earlier.
"Even for you? You sound like you know him, Mr.Mink," Unknown says in a curious tone.
"You could say that, but more about that later. I have no idea who the woman is, but I can tell she isn't a pushover. I'm afraid to say this, but we might outnumber them 5 to 4, but they outskill this group of ours completely," Mr.Mink states as he brainstorms.
"Yeah, you're probably right. Kage, Seth, and I all tried to fight Killer 3 on 1, but we barely even tickled him," Unknown says in a worried tone.
"Wait, you really fought him? That explains why Killer's clothes are a little messed up..."
As Mr.Mink speaks, a smirk appears on his face.
"Maybe this will work after all," Mr.Mink remarks.
Down below the Grava Acadamy team, the four L.T.O. members begin their search for the missing level three dagger.
"Hey, Elias, tell me when you got those injuries," Nisugi commands.
"Well, I got them a few hours ago in a battle with this girl—"
"I don't need to know the extra details; just tell me exactly when you got them. Give me a guess if you can.
"Well, I would say about three hours and thirty minutes ago." Elias guesses.
"Ok, that's good," Nisugi says as she walks away with her eyes glowing.
"Wait, what did you need to know that f—"
Elias looks down and sees that all his injuries are gone and even his clothes are fixed; it almost looks like the fight with Akira never happened.
"How did you do that? I didn't even see anything happen," Elias says as he moves around his limbs.
"We can't have you lagging behind, so make sure you are useful in finding this dagger," Nisugi says in a commanding tone.
"Yeah, of course I won't let you or Strout down!"
"Whatever. Killer and Ego, make sure we search every inch of this area," Nisugi shouts.
"Hey, you know the path to finding level three isn't so easy, right?"
Nisugi, Elias, Killer, and Ego all look behind them and see Mr.Mink alongside the four Grava Acadamy boys standing in formation.
"The path won't be easy as long as we are around, at least," Mr.Mink declares.
"Aye Killer! We're going to make sure you don't run from the smoke this time, bitch!" Kage exclaims.
"..."
Killer feels unmoved by Kage's challenge.
"I don't think he's going to take us seriously unless we show him, don't you think?" Jason says as he cracks his knuckles with an inviting smile on his face as his Geogalatic form fluctuates with power.
"If we want that dagger, I'm going to have to freeze everything in my path," Seth says as he looks at Elias.
"Ok Unknown just concentrate on controlling OGI as well as you can and keep your techniques polished just like Mr.Mink taught you," Unknown thinks to himself as he looks at Ego, who has a psychotic smile on his face.
"Heh, well, the man of chaos shows himself to me again. I feel so homered!" Ego yells.
The second Mr.Mink hears Ego's words, he looks at him with disgust.
"So this is Invincible, the first feared legend to ever be recognized. This might be troublesome, but all he has are a bunch of kids as his backup. This shouldn't slow us down," Nisugi thinks to herself as she adjusts her glasses.
"Remember what we talked about, boys, and make sure you put them down properly!" Mr.Mink orders.
"Right!" all the boys scream as they rush toward the enemy.
Kage and Jason fly toward Killer, Seth rushes toward Elias, and Unknown rushes toward Ego, and Mr.Mink stays in place to face off against Nisugi.
"Those children will die," Nisugi says in a dark tone.
"Sorry to disappoint, but these students were trained by Grava Academy," Mr.Mink responds.
"And?"
"It means high stakes only make them stronger," Mr.Mink says with a confident expression.
As Kage and Jason rush toward him, Killer pulls out two Uzi's.
"..."
"Aye, Jason, you get left, I get right?" Kage questions.
"I don't see any problem with that," Jason responds in a nice tone.
Kage flies to Killer's left with energy jet, while Jason flies to his right.
"Energy multi-shot!" Kage screams.
"..."
Killer begins to avoid the energy beams that seem to be tracking his movements.
At the same time, Jason floats in the air and points both his hands at Killer.
"Just stay still for a moment, won't you?" Jason says as a massive amount of power builds up in front of his palms.
Jason releases a huge blast of Geoglatic energy toward Killer.
"..."
Killer attempts to move out of the blast radius, but the beam hits him directly, knocking him into a building. Then Kage's energy beams follow it up by smacking Killer completely through the building.
"Hell yeah, Jason! That was badass! What element did you adapt to this time?" Kage remarks with an excited expression.
"I still don't know myself, but all I know is this power will aid me in my journey to level three!" Jason states as he clenches his right fist.
Kage and Jason look over to where they sent Killer after sensing something. Both of them see Killer walking out still holding his Uzi's, but his clothes are a little roughed up.
"..."
With the beginning of the battle with Killer Unknown has also started his battle with Ego.
"Heh, so you're one of Invincible's esteemed students," Ego remarks.
"Who's Invincible?" Unknown asks as he throws a punch at Ego.
Ego catches Unknown"a fist in his left hand and slams his right elbow into his stomach.
"Oh, so you don't know how interesting," Ego says with a smirk.
Ego vanishes and then reappears beside Unknown with a chainsaw.
"Haha, keep on your toes, student!" Ego exclaims.
Ego swings the chainsaw at Unknown's and barely gets evaded.
"Where did you even grab a chainsaw from?" Unknown asks.
"Wow, that man really didn't tell you anything," Ego remarks.
At the same time as this battle, Seth has begun his assault on Elias.
"Hey, stop running already!" Seth screams as he shoots multiple shards of ice at Elias from his fingers.
Elias runs from the shards, completely invading them.
"Here we go with this problem again! I still can't counter projectiles; why can't he just come to throw a punch or something?" Elias thinks to himself.
Elias gets smacked by ice shards on his left leg and chest.
"I hope you don't expect to win against me with that counter power of yours because even a fool can see its biggest weakness!" Seth remarks as an ice shard builds up between two of his fingers.
"I didn't even realize this might be my worst matchup yet! I can't move with my leg frozen, damn it!" Elias screams.
Seth uses the accelerate technique and gets directly behind Elias.
"Now Cryo freeze!" Seth exclaims.
"Let me guess this was your plan the entire time." Elias asks as his entire body gets frozen solid.
"Yep, and it worked so well on a one-trick pony like you," Seth says in a condescending tone.
After freezing Elias solid, Seth turns to Mr.Mink and Nisugi, who are still staring at each other, waiting for each other to make the first move.
"Hey, Mr.Mink my objective is complete! Let's hurry up; he might be in the lower classes, but he's still physically strong enough to fight Paul; the ice won't keep him frozen forever!" Seth screams to Mr.Mink.
"Of course, the plan is to end this as quickly as possible anyway! Grava Acadamy plan switch commence!" Mr.Mink yells as he claps his hands together.
After the students hear Mr.Mink Seth begins to rush toward the battle with Killer.
"What are you playing at Invincible?" Nisugi questions Mr.Mink.
"Please refrain from using that name. That's not who I am anymore, but if you want to know so bad, you should just wait a little," Mr.Mink states in a calm tone.
Mr.Mink thinks back to when he and the students were planning their attack on the remaining L.T.O. members.
"Okay, so these four guys alone can just destroy all five of us easily, so what do we do?" Unknown asks.
"Yeah, it seems we're going into a hopeless battle here," Jason says as he starts thinking.
"Maybe if we all just attack one guy at a time, we can win!" Kage exclaims in confidence.
"This isn't a video game; there's no way the other enemies would wait their turn," Seth remarks with a chuckle.
"Actually, that might work. Good idea, Kage!" Mr.Mink says with an astonished expression on his face.
"Wait really?" Seth says in a shocked expression.
"Yeah, take that bitch!" Kage whispers to Seth.
"You damn annoying—"
"Hey Seth, the weakest enemy on the field is Elias, but his power would be a complete disadvantage for someone like me or Unknown who mostly uses physical attacks."
As Mr.Mink speaks, Seth smiles widely.
"But there's more than just a few glaring weaknesses to his fighting style," Seth responds.
"I see, so you've already noticed. well that's good I want to you go straight after Elias the very second the battle begins. Incompacatate him quickly then join the battle against Killer so it will become a 3 verse 1," Mr.Mink says in a serious tone.
"Oh, I get it. This is so we have as much pressure on Killer, who seems to be the strongest out of the group," Jason says as he looks back at the L.T.O. group.
"Correct, and we will also change up the matchups mid-battle," Mr.Mink says as he starts drawing in the dirt with his finger.
"So this will be the matchups before and after Seth defeats Elias," Unknown asks.
"Correct!"
Mr.Mink returns his mind to the present and looks toward Nisugi, who has an annoyed expression.
"Ok, I don't need to know your strategy; I'll just end you all the same," Nisugi exclaims in an irritated tone.
"Oh, sorry, I should've told you I will not be your opponent in this battle."
Suddenly three huge blasts of energy come from the sky and fly toward Nisugi.
"What?"
Nisugi quickly jumps out of the way of the energy beams and instantly looks to the sky.
"He will be your opponent," Mr.Mink says in an ominous tone.
In the sky, Kage, who has left the battle with Killer, is currently in hot pursuit of Nisugi.
"A child really?" Nisugi whispers in disgust.
"Hey, I heard that lady! I might be a child, but guess what? I'm going to kick your ass all across the field!" Kage yells in a cocky tone.
"Sorry to have to throw a battle with a person we have no idea about at you but your versatility best fits a battle against a mysterious opponent. Now for me..."
As Mr.Mink thinks, he vanishes and reappears next to Killer, who is currently confronting Jason.
"I will handle the other feared legend," Mr.Mink thinks to himself.
Mr.Mink kicks Killer in the stomach with the back of his right foot, causing him to spit up blood.
Killer jumps back from Mr.Mink and instantly gets into the offensive.
"..."
"I heard from my students you mess them up pretty badly in your battle; well, let's see if you can try that same stunt against me."
