章 38: Bond

I couldn't help the heaviness and dread that seemed to fill me as soon as we arrived in the Underworld, and I clung to Azger as the portal closed beneath us. Their room was lavishly decorated, and I could just make out the dark shape of Luc on their bed.

"Luc!" I pulled away from the demon as I ran to the bed, pushing aside the thin fabric as I tried to look at his face. He was breathing, but his body was still, as if death had just taken him. I gently touched his skin and he felt warm, not the usual chill that his body carried. 

"You can't use magic here, otherwise everyone in the palace will sense it," I turned as Azger spoke, watching as their dark red magic dripped from their hands. "I will try to cover up your presence by using my magic, but it will only obscure you for so long. As soon as Lucien is lucid, I can move him."
